Hi,
Take down the cover... they usually snap in by a set of spring wires...then looh ofr a screw or a couple of screws that hold the motor assembly up in the box. If there are no screws then the plate that holds the motor just snaps into the outside box....if that is the case just take a screw driver and pry out slightly on the outside box and snap the plate out and drop it down...
The motor will then just be a couple of nuts to release it from the plate...the fan cage often just pulls off of the shaft.

I have having a problem removing the blower wheel from the Nutone 8830. Any tips or advice.

The best I can give is to turn the shaft up so that you can run WD-40 down the shaft between the blower wheel and the shaft...let it soak for an hour and keep repeating...then carefully pull the wheel from the shaft...or carefully wedge a flat bar behind the blower wheel to force it off...

The whole process can be very tedious and time consuming...

Then getting the wheel to grip the new motor can be tough also...

Its too late now, but the instructions above are for the vast majority of Nutone bathroom ventilators that use plastic blower wheels. Nutone 8830 has a metal wheel with a set screw. The wheel is easily removed after loosening the set screw with a 1/8" Allen wrench. There are specialized blower wheel pullers that use plate collars that don't distort metal wheels if the shaft is corroded, but I don't know of any pullers that work on the motor-in-wheel style of the 8832. The best pulling strategy is to drill and tap two small holes through a bar, the wheel, into the hub, avoiding the set screw. I use a cheap flat plate pipe hanger wall flange, they come with a 5/16" tapped center hole. Grind a slight taper onto a 5/16" hex cap screw (hardened type preferred). Attach the plate to the wheel hub and use the hex cap screw to drive the shaft from the blower wheel hub. Without a puller, the wheel distorts if it is is pryed from the shaft and an out of balance wheel will slowly ruin the motor bearings and then vibrate noisily. If a metal wheel must be pryed from the shaft, replace it to avoid ruining the motor it is attached to.

Old NuTone 9093n Model replacement.?

Hi -- I just spent a couple of days taking out the old assembly, cleaning all the parts (layers of dust coats) and putting the 9093N back in order to fix the noisy fan. The cold air coming back in is from to the heating and I'd guess the heating element is busted. Yes, you can run it in both airflow modes: ceiling air exhaust and hot air blown to the floor. That said, the noise level on mine hasn't gone down. So I'll look for the replacement assembly. Good luck!

Nutone bath fan how do you clean the vent

Usually the vent cover pulls straight down, and is held in place with 2 V-shaped metal spring wires.
Squeeze each spring wire together to release cover from ceiling box.
Use vacuum to clean vent fan housing. Some vent fans can be disassembled and motor housing removed for cleaning. Do NOT use water on electric motor. Simple vacuum, or dry toothbrush cleaning is good enough.
Spay tiny bit of WD40 on the fan motor shaft or add tiny dab of white grease if desired.
The plastic cover can be scrubbed with soap and water, rinse to remove soap residue, and when dry, paint with aerosol spray paint using 3-5 very light coats applied in 5 minute intervals.

The replacement motor is available from several sources online. The best way is to purchase the new motor assembly. All you need to do is remove the blower housing from the ceiling, there are three screws that hold the motor assembly in place. The whole job takes about five minutes. Here are a few sites with the motor.

I have a Nutone 672rb bathroom exhaust fan. About 10 years old with no maint to date. Fan is laboring and sounds like binding up. I removed it and am trying to get the white circular "fan" off...

For most ceiling exhaust fans, the motor portion is usually attached to a metal housing plate. If this is the case, there is usually a hex or phillips screw on one side or perhaps in a corner which retains the entire housing plate. The motor assembly is usually attached to this plate. Unplug the motor wire inside the fan housing. Remove this retaining screw and look to see if one side can slip downward while the opposite side is usually retained by two metal tabs that are in metal side wall slots. If sliding down the retainer housing is working, then once clear of the metal frame you can pull backward away from the side wall to release the two tabs from their slots. By now you should have the motor assembly and fan blade assembly in your hands ready to dismantle, or clean & lubricate as needed.

Nu Tone Bath Exhaust Fan - QT-110N-B - motor vibrating

You can buy just the motor assembly. You would remove the grill. Usually there is a plug to disconnect the motor. Remove screw(s) and the motor and fan assembly will come out leaving the rough in housing in the ceiling. I did not locate your model number as you listed it however the QT line has numerous model numbers. Here is a link to the nutone page. You should be able to purchase a "trim kit" which would include the fan, motor, and grill. You can either buy it on-line, or you might try an electrical supply company.

How to replace a motor on a nutone model 8663P bathroom exhaust fan

The motor assembly is held in place with tabs and possibly one screw. Remove the light assembly and once you get to the fan itself, unplug it, and push the side of the unit outward to release the tabs. You push the fan assembly up while pushing out on the side. If you look closely you can see the slots where the tabs go. There may or may not be a screw holding it in place. After you release one side, then rotate the fan assembly down and out.

Have a broan n688 ceiling exhaust fan in bathroom and now it takes a couple of minutes to actually start, finally making a whirring noise before coming on. Solution?

First turn the power to the fan OFF. Take it down from the ceiling by removing the screws holding the cover on. Then remove the screws holding it to the ceiling. Then unscrew the screw caps that twist (connect) the wires from fan motor to the house wiring. Do a general clean up on the fan. Use an old paint brush to get in the hard to get at places. Rotate the fan by hand. If it does not rotate freely, put some oil on the shaft where it goes into the motor, and put some on where the shaft comes out the back. If it still does not rotate freely, buy a replacement and install it.

One drop of 30 wt oil at each bearing will quiet the thing for a while, but you will eventually want to replace it. Also consider the whole fan is about the same cost as the motor, and easier to find.

It is really easy to change the motor yourself. It is about a 15 minute job. You just need to find your model number and then you can buy the complete motor assembly. https://www.centralvacuumstores.com/model_number_help.php
