I appreciate you help, I must have typed 9000 instead of 8000, To my knowledge there is no 9000 model. I hope you can tell me how to fix it. If it is the A Board, where can I get one?

Checking this out now, looks like you will need to contact Janome to get the part if it is available. Call them at 1-800-631-0183, I believe you want extension 774.

    Thanks

Install the program on the new computer. Save the data, patterns and stuff you have saved onto a USB memory stick and not where the program saved it on the old computer. Drop the files into the same location on the new computer.

I have a Singer S18, stitches perfect. Attempted to use Zig Zag stich and decorative stitches, These are not working, It will make a few stitches then keeps stitching in place. Any Suggestions? Thanks

You probably need to widen the stitch width before it will let you sew. Or change the pressed foot to accommodate the movement of the needle when making decorative stitches.

I have a Bernina 1230, that was a gift from my mother-in-law. I need help creating continuous decorative stitches and I don't understand the user guide directions.

What a Great Gift!!!

The manual is a bit confusing. From what I can gather, it looks like to program, press MEM, select the first stitch, press MEM, select the next stitch...end programming with MEM.

Press "pattern begin" to start and then "pattern end" to end.

If you are interested in joining a Bernina group who discusses all kinds of questions and tips about using older Bernina machines, look for a Yahoo Group called "BerninaThirtySomethings" The members are very helpful and some are Bernina technicians who know a lot about the machines.

Actually, you can also download the 1260 manual. It is very similar to your 1230 but may be easier to understand. Look at the memory instructions there (page 26...). It appears in order to perform multiples of a particular stitch, after selecting that stitch, press the MEM button that many times.

I have forgotten how to work my Decorative stitches on my Bernina 930

select the 1-20? stich pattern on top of the unit, then select the pattern you want, select widest stich and turn the length adjuster to the length that best suits that stich, (it could be from almost zero to full length depending on the pattern)

The bobbin thread is bunching on the under side of the fabric,. Decorative designs are close together, not like the pattern and when I use the more intricate decorative designs, they just sit in a quarter...

Make sure that you use the F foot when using decorative stitches.

The stitch balance my be off. Remove the accessory bin and you will see a large plastic screw with a + and a - and an arrow. Using a coin, turn the arrow to the center and test. Turn the arrow towards the + to stretch the pattern out.

If this doesn't work, it must me calibrated internally and requires an experience hand.

Yamata FY7568 only stiches ----------

Have you changed your needle? If you have a dull or bent needle it can cause the machine to not lock the stitches together and the result is a straight stitch on every pattern. Also, check your stitch width selector and make sure that it did not get accidently moved.

I have a quantum cxl. It will sew normal stiches but it will not sew the decorative stiches

The needle shaft sticks to the curved arm and won't come down because a piece of plastic, about an eighth of an inch thick had broken from age. It prevented the shaft from staying up on the needle arm. Open the cover, try to stitch decorative stitch and see what I mean. Purchase a package of 4-10 by 1/2 nut and bolt pack. Screw the nut all the way onto the bolt. Using needle-nosed plyers, Carefully bend the curved arm slightly, and place bolt into the hole on the top of the needle shaft. Nut will keep it in place. Lowering the needle shaft using wheel, carefully bend arm back in place. Try decorative stitch. It should work. It does for me.
