The easiest way to respond to your questions is with a question of my own. Are you currently able to pick up any digital broadcasting from your local stations now, such as any HD broadcasts?
If your not then you may not have an built in digital tuner, but not to worry. It is true that if you subscribe to cable or satellite services they automatically covert your signal back to analog so the television can receive the programing.
