Question about Philips 60P8342 60" Rear Projection Television
My JVC I art pro 42 tv turns off by it self after playing for 30 to 40 minutes
My tv turns off and on by its self.
I just recently had the picture and sound fixed, now its doing this.
How can I fix this myself ?
Ours 60" (60P8342) turns off after a short period of time also. My husband researched it online. The cheap solution he was told to try is to unplug the TV (or plug into power strip and switch off) when you are done watching it. A computer board inside over heats and it's a protection mechanism for it to turn off. Otherwise, it's over $100 to fix the computer board.

SOURCE: Tv turns off by it self
This usually is heat related. Is the filter clean? The fan working? Otherwise there is most likly a "so called" cold solder joint...where the connection on a board is not positively made...often when it warms up the joint will 'open'..disconnect. This needs re-soldering.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
