is possible that the receiver has given out, check to see if it is
within manufacturers warranty, if it is then the manuf should fix it for
Save all your routes etc before sending it back as it will most certainly get wiped and factory loaded.
External antenna may help I have had my GPS( TOMTOM One) on Waiting for Signal for 2 weeks now and I finally fixed it.
My symptomtoms (word play) were no signal at open areas, when connected
to Tom Tom Home it showed exactly where I was and worked through the PC
but when disconnected back to the same thing.
I called Tom Tom CS and nothing, Flash did nothing, factory defaults nothing, and updating did nothing.
What I did:
I charged the unit completely.
I took a paperclip and while off pressed on the reset button at the bottom by SD slot. I held it there for 30 Mississippi's.
I did not turn it on after letting go.
I went outside to my car (parked on roof of parking lot) turned it on and set it on my dash vertically.
I left and came back in 1 hour and It is working perfectly!.
hi save all the maps and info you have to your computer and then wipe/reformat your tom tom and the reload it and update it and you should be right to go. cheers ps update as often as possible i update mine 2-3 times a week if using it daily.
You also may want to ensure the format on the card was compatible with the new software. chances are you need to update both with it wanting to reformat the card it will wipe all information clean. Try saving the information to your computer before formatting the card to save the maps. It may work if not you may need to update the card with newer software compatible wiht the new download
your tom tom should come with an update disk which should also include the orignal files that the tom tom runs with on the disk there should be a restore original files in the disk. if not then have a look on the tom tom website and see if they have an files you can download to restore the tom tom :)
more than likely, I just purchased a new tomtom sd card on ebay with all the new maps on it, ver.7 got it for a UK seller no problems, did you back it up on your computer? hopfully you did, then you can just connect it to tomtom home and reinstall it.
Hi, i did the same thing with my tom tom 300 go, i fixed it by borrowing my mothers sd card from her tom tom 710, i put the card into a card reader and copied the hole card to my computer then copied it back onto my sd card out of my tomtom then put in mine and bingo it worked with all the fetchers that her tom tom had and the updated maps it still said it was a 300 but had the 710 stuff try this it worked for me it should work for you.
