Question about AT&T Spirit 6-Button Stard Misty Phone

Open Question

I have an AT&T 1224 Spirit phone system. I"ve moved and taken the system with me. The phone calls out on a pulse mode. Automated answering systems that I call will answer but will not respond when numbers are asked for to route my call to various departments. It acts as if I"ve pressed no button at all. It seems that my Spirit system has switched from touch tone mode to pulse mode. I've tried to reprogram back to touch tone mode but the system does not respond to these attempts. I suspect that my problem is that I do not know where the control unit administration switch is located. I believe that if I find that then my attempts at reprogramming the system will work. Can you help me?

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: I have an AT&T Spirit

Hello,

Have you try to reset it? If no, Just try to reset it to factory settings.
Remove the AC Adapter from the AC power (either at the base or at the wall outlet) and immediately connect it again. Remove battery from the handset and immediately replace it. Place the handset back into the charger for about 5 seconds. That should reset the phone and put the phone on default.

Take care.

If I enter the phone number and then press "talk", the numbers dial extremely quickly, a dial tone comes on, and I have to enter the numbers again. How do I fix this? It is a Vtech 6.0 DECT.

Usually there are two modes provided to all fixed line telephones. Tone mode and pulse mode. Pulse mode will dial the call slowly and Tone mode will dial calls quickly. Your phone is in Tone mode i guess. You need not dial the numbers again. Wait for few seconds and the call will get accomplished!

My KX-T7030 phone will not send a tone during a call, so I cannot "Press 1" or any number to use automated options. It does dial numbers ok??

If it dials O.K., try pressing # and see if it turns on the DTMF pad. You could have pulse dial on outside calls enabled, and that would keep the keypad in pulse mode until it's told to send tones.

This is really only a guess. The type of dialing is programmed in CO trunks and it's possible it's been set to Call Blocking! It is designed to send pulse only and block the audio of DTMF so the CO won't get confused. You might start with changing the Type Dial to DTMF and test. If that doesn't work, try Pulse and test. Last, if that doesn't work, you will need to keep call blocking and try the # after dialing.

Please comment back if it does or doesn't work. We don't see much pulse dial around here.

AVAYA PARTNER ACS PHONE SYSTEM

Yes it can. Depending on the type of voice mail attached to your system you can both have the lines answered with a seperate main greeting (partner messaging can do this) or answered by a seperate mailbox (all partner voice mails).

Swicth from tone to pulse

1) When the phone is in standby mode, press and hold the caller id/menu key.
2) Press the vol/ / key three times to select Dial.
3) Press the select key to toggle between Tone and Pulse.
4) Press the end key or return the handset to the base unit to complete the setting. The handset returns to standby mode.

This phone also has a feature that allows you to use Pulse dialing to make calls, but allows you to switch to tone dialing for automated systems (like “Please Press 1 for English) here are the steps for that:

Initially make your call with the pulse dialing mode. Once your call connects, press
the */tone key. Enter the desired number. These digits will be sent as tone dialing.
Once the call ends, the tone mode is canceled and pulse dialing mode resumes.

Time consuming incoming automated phone call

With a CallPilot voicemail system, you could have the system recognize the caller id info of the call and send it directly into a mailbox, eliminating the need for your digital answering machine. That's the only option I am aware of.
Hope this helps.

AT&T Spirit Phone

You’ll need either a 6-button or a 24-button set SPIRIT CS administration.

First the control unit ADMIN switch must be ON, the administration overlay must be in place on station 10, and the set must be plugged into control unit jack 10 (call processing is interrupted only at station 10).

After moving the admin switch, and before dialing Ftr 7 -
From station 10 press intercom, Press speaker, Dial *0, Dial 1, Then Press Ftr 7.

Each line indicator light will show the current dialing type for that line. If the light is OFF, that line is set for touch tone dialing. If the light is ON, the line is set for dial pulse
dialing.

To change the dialing type for a line or lines, press the line button(s) and dial the appropriate digit from the table below. You may press more than one line button to make the change on more than one line. If you enter a digit without first pressing a line button you will hear the error tone.

Be sure to turn the admin switch back off when you’re finished.
