I assume you are installing the program using the setup file saved on your computer. If you are installing it from the CD/DVD, first copy all the contents and save them into your computer (a folder which you'll be able to remember easily, otherwise you may have trouble locating when needed).

Check the lists of installed programs from the Control Panel's "Add/Remove Programs", remove any unwanted or unnecessary toolbars, multimedia softwares/players (not so important programs), if there's any cd/dvd writing software or ISO writer, uninstall them. Run System Cleaning (Disk CleanUp) [right-click "C:", "Properties" and then "Disk CleanUp", while running disk cleanup, close all the running programs including the Internet Browser/s].

Once it's done, open "msconfig" and [click "Startup" tab] disable all the non-microsoft start-up applications, [you can change it later] (Click "Start" and type in msconfig in the run box [windows xp] or start search box [windows vista and 7]). Now apply the settings after disabling all the startups. Then restart your computer, once it's restarted, install the Roxio and see how it goes.

If the problem persists, let me know with more details like operating system, major installed softwares/programs, etc...

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I am so sorry if those recent comments were meant for me, actually I didn't get any notification emails for this thread, I am really very sorry, i guess there's another expert involved with this thread. Anyway, let me clarify, I think the latest comment is mine (I am not sure about the other two comments). In your first comment, I came across the error code and I am clear now. There are few reason, 1. System Users Account rights, 2. Virus/Spyware,,etc., 3. Software conflick and 4. Registry entries issue.

In my first post, I've mentioned that it was an assumption since you didn't mention much about the problem earlier. What I was trying to make you understand and let you do was to uninstall those programs which are not much important and those that could be easily re-install, like suppose if there's microsoft office, then you can reinstall it using the Original Disk..etc.. Forget about it.. let's proceed..

(Please note down or capture a screen shot of the error message box, you'll need the key)

Before we begin, please sign off and login as Adminstrator (Logoff and Sign In as Administrator, not the current user if this was a created account other than the built in Administrator). Click "Start" > "Log Off" and proceed forward (do this after all the programs are closed), once you are log off, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete on the keyboard, you'll be presented with the windows classic logOn window, type in the user name as administrator and press enter without entering the password (I hope you haven't changed/set the admin password)

First, let's try with the registry entry, once you are logged in, click "Start" > "Run" and type in regedit in the run box and press enter, now locate the Key, and select it, now click "Edit" on the menu bar and modify the Permission settings, save the settings and try the installer again.

Well bring up another method if this doesn't helpful. It may take time, but it's not a big issue that can't be fixed. Good luck.

Hi I'm running XP pro SP 2 on a MS9121 motherboard and when I shut down my PC, alomst everytime, the system reboots and starts again. The only solution consists in turning off the back switch and I...

This issue may occur if the following conditions are true:
  • You have "automatically restart" selected.
  • The Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.0 or Direct CD 5.0 program is installed on your computer.
uninstall Roxio Easy CD Creator and install again without Direct CD.

Second Option:
Have you turned off APM? If not, right-click desktop, select screen saver tab, click "power" button under monitor power, select APM tab, uncheck "enable APM support." I did that and the system shuts down no problem.

Third option
  1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
  3. Clear the Automatically restart check box under System failure, and then click OK. The error message should remain on the screen so that you can record the error information.

I found a sarlicense9.dat, deleted it and now have no more issues.

Having installed Roxio Creator 10, I get a recurring message: "RoxMMTrayApp Module has encountered a problem and needs to close." Etc. It occurs even when I am not editing with that software. ...

ROXIO Multi Media Tray Application Module Has Encountered a problem and needs to close.

This Means ROXIO Creator 10 Try Application Encountered an error.

And since it happens while burning a disc

You should

1. Uninstall ROXIO Creator 10 , and reinstall it to make sure nothing is corupted.

2. If you still get the same problem it's time to check your intire system for errors.

This can mean you will need to take trouble shooting steps.

1. Use another burning program to see if you can burn without errors.

2. if you can burn fine with another burning program like NERO then chances are
you have an incompatability with ROXIO Creator 10 and should consult the documentation
to see if your drive is actually supported by it.

Do these things weed hopper and all will be well with you.

I seem to have a conflict between Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 and some other programme (maybe IE6). When I try to open VideoWave it shuts down wirth error exception message in some memory address.

The Roxio shipped with Dell system has bugs in them since they are shipped hence cannot be repaired. you need to uninstall Roxio and install IE7.
