It depend on the number.. you can go to a free website like anywho.com that can most of the time give you all the information your looking for for a land line phone. Other sites the require you to pay, but they can tell you where a cell number comes from. I can't suggest any paid sites to you, but you can easily find them by going to netscape.com and searching for "cell phone lookup"
