That's probably just the starter/overload relay and can easily replaced. Part 5 and 6 on this diagram is your relay. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Amana-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-ATB1832ARZ/1268/0166000/M0603325/00001?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=

The best way to cook on this grill and how do you use the smoker on the grill. I put some meat on this grill and all my meat burn up. also I will like to know how to use the small smoke box on the side.

Hi dale37...
The small smoke box on the left is used to put your charcoal/wood in, this is where your heat and smoke will come from to cook your meat.
You will adjust your heat going to the large side by adjusting your air vent/s.
It is meant to cook the meat slowly as to make it "fall of the bone" tender.
Great for doing pulled pork also....just takes lots of time because your slow cooking the meat.
Do not use charcoal/wood under the big grill side unless you plan to stay with and turn the meat to keep from burning it.

Inspect foil side of HV board for burned tracks toward lower side of board. If burned, check HV capacitors (High Voltage Capacitor Test Procedure) and HV transformers (High Voltage Transformer Test) for a short. Otherwise test other components as outlined above.
Solution: Replace defective components as necessary. If applicable, repair foil trace on HV board.
Hope that helps.........

Have charcoal grill/small smoker. burned the meat in the small smoker. Do i put meat on the grill side and use the small smoker for charcoal and wood chips only? my grill did not come with a manual

It depends on whether your trying to smoke the meat or grill the meat. You can't do both at once.
If you want to grill the meat, don't even fool with the smoker part. Put the charcoal in the grill side, light it and allow it to get white hot, before putting the meat on to sear it on both sides first, before moving it to a cooler part of the grill to finish cooking to your likeness.

If you're trying to smoke meat or whatever, you use only the smoker side for heat and smoke. By, usually using some type of hardwood, like Oak, Mesquite , Pecan. etc. However, the meat or whatever you want to smoke, goes on the grill side (No charcoal required under it), because smoking is a low heat (200 - 225 degrees F) slow process. Any where from a couple of hours up top 8 hours, depending on what and how much you're smoking. It's often referred to, as "Low & Slow."

Hope this helped you to better understand how a combination grill-smoker works. Once you do a little receipe research and get the hang of it, you'll really enjoy it.

2003 hyundai accent 1.6L is slow to fuel up. Then the check engine light comes on. The code reads evaporative emmision control small leak. Apparently this is common with this car.

The vapor tube is plugged with charcoal pellets from the cannister it is connected to. There are 2 clips you simply pinch on to release. Careful when you pull off the hose they will come out quickly. Crawl under the car just behind left rear wheel you will see a black box and on the right side is a small hose that is the vapor tube. I just emptied mine of all the charcoal pellets and it fills properly. I also put a small screen at the end of the hose as it goes into the box to prevent more debris from getting in. Please do not pay big bucks to fix this it is simple to remedy.

No heat electric amana dryer

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Fixya.com.

These are the common causes for the dryer not to heat up:-

1) A burned out heating element. Remove tall box on right, element slides out from the bottom together with the "carrier". Look for broken coil, or check 2 terminals at bottom with ohm meter.

2) Burned wires at connectors. Check for obviously overheated wire terminals at all sensors (thermostats and thermal fuses in back), heater box, main terminals where power cord hooks up, etc.

3) An open thermal fuse. This is a small "thermostat" with 2 wires at the middle/top of the heater "box" (a tall narrow box on right in the back of the machine), or a plastic type on the duct close to the blower, depending on the model. You will need to remove the back cover of the machine to see these. Check with an ohm meter after disconnecting one of the leads, or jumper the 2 wires together to see if heater works (don't use this way though, fire hazard... replace the device) If this proves to be the cause of the problem, it would be wise to check all ducts and blower for excessive lint build-up. This will reduce air flow, causing overheating and blown thermal fuses.

4) Only getting 110 volts: This is often overlooked, but if for some reason one of the poles feeding the 220 power from the house wiring is open but the other is OK (for example, houses with fuses where only one fuse is blown, or a bad circuit breaker with one pole open). The motor and timer run on 110. If the side of the 220 line that feeds the motor is OK but the other one is open the motor will run but the heater, which 220 needs will not heat. Check for 220 volts between the 2 outer terminals where power cord connects or between the 2 "hot" terminals of the 220 outlet the dryer is plugged into.

5) Bad thermostats. There are usually 2 or more. A high limit on heater box, just above terminals on the bottom. 1 or 2 will be on the duct next to the blower. Check these with an ohm meter (or continuity checker). Some have 4 terminals; the extra 2 small terminals are small heaters inside the thermostats which alter its temperature characteristics. These will usually read around 4000 ohms or so. Check the 2 main largest terminals for continuity.

6) Bad centrifugal switch in motor. This is what actually turns the heater on, for safety reasons, so the heater cannot come on unless the fan is spinning. Otherwise without air flow past it, the heater would burn out.
There are 2 large gauge (usually red or yellow) wires going to the connector on the motor, these go to the contacts inside the motor that turn the heater on.

Amana Prestige Central A/C,inside fan on out side fan not running, breaker in house good out side switch on,is there a breaker in the out side box ? it is not seen.Out side fan feels reel warm but not...

Hi!!

Replace motor fan and capacitor of the outside unit. it is a very simple task. Turn breaker OFF. Then all you have to do is remove about four screws from the top grill, about four more that fasten the motor fan assembly, unplugg electrical connectors and label them and install the new one and switch fan blades.

No special knowledge is required to perform this job. Cost: about $140 +-.

On the other hand, you call a HVAC technician, they supply the motor and capacitor, otherwise they won't give you warranty. Cost $300. Look on the Yellow Pages for one in your neighborhood.

Air will not come out when turned on smell of burned oil. A/C is also effected

Do this.

1.)At your thermostat...Turn system switch to off position(dont have it in heat, cool, or auto mode).
2.)At your thermostat...put fan switch from auto to on position.
Do you have a indoor fan(is air coming out the small registers in ceiling or floor).
Do you smell "Oil" smell(most likely an electrical smell).

If you have no indoor blower, a bad smell, most likely your indoor blower motor fried, your control box has fried,or a combination of both.

Hopefully it's just a fan motor but the smell should go away after a bit.It shouldnt linger for days.

My guess if it lingers you burnt your transformer from a low side short.

Call a tech.

Amana bottom freezer has a burning smell coming from the back of it. Fan is still working.

Is this burning smell occurring during a defrost? Something, like a food particle or wrappping, could be burning while in contact with the defrost heater. Is the burning smell coming from within the freezer? If it is coming from the outside and back of the box, unplug the box and investigate, or call a technician. You may want to call a technician, anyway? We don't need house fires.

I have a Rudd uaka-037JAZ. I was cutting my lawn and accidentally cut the small wires going to the unit. I reconnected the wires but the unit will not come on.

You possibly shorted out the indoor transformer. The primary side of the transformer will open/burn up when low voltage wiring is shorted. But if indoor unit comes on i.e fan motor works and you cant hear contactor come on on the outside unit you may still have and open circuit on those wires you broke. If you hear the contactor hum or come on you may have a problem with incoming power to the outdoor unit or a pitted contactor. Try those things first.
