Thanks!! This was exactly the problem on my fridge, and is probably a fairly common problem. In detail... - Some ice was evident on the outside of back ball. To get to the ice that was affecting the fan... emptied freezer, removed screw in center of back panel. Pressing panel half way up, and heard ice crunching behind it. Think this step may have helped loosen the ice. Pulled on ice maker wire to get left side and bottom tab free. Broke vent fin, and pulled on right side with finger. Pulled panel out on right side, and clunk. Large chunk of ice fell out. Reached behind and took out a few more pieces.

Thank you. This must be a fairly common problem. Would probably be easiest to let the ice melt to fix this problem. I was able to get mine off without defrosting. 1) Press the center of back panel to crunch ice behind it. Pulled Ice maker hose/wire to free top left corner. Broke out small vent fin on top right vent, and pulled out right side with finger. Clunk, ice fell out.

Samsung refrigerator loud noise

if the fan is still running when you open the door , the I would be leaving that idea as a last resort
try this
get 2 taper door chocks and put one either side at the back of the fridge
push the cabinet sideways and slip one chock in a bit then do the other side
many noises are from the bottom plate that the compressor is mounted on from tapping on the floor and lifting it a bit stops the noise
the same as when you open the door the pressure on that plate is removed and so it stops hitting the floor

The freezer is making a loud buzz sound that stops when I open the door.

Could be the evaporator fan motor about to fail or the evap fan blade touching something. If the fan is controlled by a door switch, opening the door would deactivate the motor and the noise would stop. Depress the door switch and see if you can locate the exact source of the noise.

Fridge makes a fairly loud humming noise when I close the door

it sounds like your refridgerator might be unlevel try adjusting the legs all the way down to start then level to floor if that doesnt fix it its probably the rubber gromet under the compressor usually there is four of them if one comes out(usually after moving it makes your compressor vibrate you can use almost any gromet of of any junk refrigerator or if you want you can by original replacement parts at one of your local appliance dealer

Loud humming noise as fridge is running

Sounds like the freezer fan is rubbing some wires or possible some foam insulation around the fan. I would look into the freezer compartment fan and go from there. The fan Will Shut off when you open the doors. Let me know how you make out and if you need anymore help.

Thanks,
Bill

its a heater cycle problem..the defroster is not working properly. its building up ice in the evaporator that touches the evaporator fan that makes that loud noise but stops when you open a door. it could be either a bad heater, a bad thermo disc or a bad timer.hope i was able to help
