Rheem rte13 standby (green) light not on

You might have crossover problem caused by bad faucet cartridge.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Crossover.html

The green standby light should come on when 240Volt power is applied. Page 6 manual.
Both red lights should come on when tankless is activated. Page 6 manual

Factory temperature setting is usually default 120 degrees.
Adjust temps page 11 manual
Thermostat calibration is always approximate.
120 degrees is not hot enough to burn the skin.
Exceptionally cold incoming water temperature can cause tankless not to heat enough hot water: install tempering tank to preheat water to room temperature.
Tankless cannot be exposed to more than 11 grains hardness in water. Delime tankless yearly, clean water filter monthly, do not install low-flow restrictions or conserve water since the flow rate must remain high for tankless to activate.
Rheem does not post service manuals for their tankless water heaters.

How do you set the thermostat above 120 degrees? My dishwasher requires 135 degrees. Thank you.

you shouldn't have to set your heater to 135. dishwashers have a built in heating element for just this purpose.

once you start going over 120 degrees on your water heater, you start creating scalding problems.
130 degree water can cause second degree burns in 30 seconds
140 degree water can cause second degree and even third degree burns in 6 seconds
150 degree water can cause third degree burns in 2 seconds.

be very careful !

Stadt J90 Heater electrical buring smell when unit fires up smell goes away after 5 - 10min for a day or 2 then comes back. Check but no signs of fire or smoke or burnt area. Unit is old but works well...

Hello

Could be your fan blower motor overheating.Normally you wont see any smoke or burning from this motor.

There are sealed bearings in these motors that go bad and cuase a strain on the motor. Also the windings could be clogged with dirt.

Have a look at the motor after you run for a little while.IF the motor is hot to the touch have it replaced.

We have a kenmore electric dryer runs with no heat. repair manual said to check fuses. House panel has circuit breakers none tripped manual says there are two house fuses in the dryer circuit. If one of...

Older fuse panels would have two fuses, one provides power from each 120 volt leg in the panel, therefore providing 240 volts for the heater coil. The motor in the dryer only requires 120 volts, so it may possibly still run if it is on the side with a good fuse. In newer panels that have circuit breakers, you may only have a single handle, but the breaker is a 240 volt breaker (which controls both 120 volt feeds at the same time). You will likely notice that this and all other breakers that are 240 volts are twice the width of a single 120 volt breaker. There is no "second fuse" for you to check, as the circuit breaker takes the place of both fuses in an older style panel.

If you are able to confirm that you have good power at the power connection at the back of the dryer (120 volts between black and white, 120 volts between red and white, 240 volts between red and black wires), then that typically only leaves the heater coil itself or the timer to check. Check continuity on the heater coil first, and visually inspect it for a broken or shorted coil. It is usually the culprit.

If the coil checks ok, carefully check the voltage at the terminals that feed power to the coil. Depending on the model, there may also be a thermal fuse or thermostat that is inline with the power feed to the coil itself. Check this to make sure that it has continuity as well.

I hope this helps you with your repair troubleshooting. Good luck!

Electrical wiring for 120/208 service as opposed to 120/240 service

Your machine requires 208-240 volts to operate with each leg being about 120 volts. Move refrigerators are 120 volts so even though you have 20 amps you probably only have 120 volts.

You can go to the Bunn website (bunnomatic.com) click on Commercial then on Publications then Illustrated Parts and Service manuals and download the manual for your machine that shows how the wiring hooks up in the machine and the type of cord the machine requires to handle the voltage.

The plug you need must match the receptacle in the wall and there are numerous 220volt plugs and receptacles on the market. Don't get a dryer plug instead try for a twist lock as they are more reliable.
