I HAVE THE SAME MICRTEX 211SD MONITOR WHEN IT WORKS IT IS GREAT. I AM USING ANOTHER MONITER ON MY COMPUTER NOW SO IT IS NOT THE COMPUTER OR VIDEO CARD. IT IS THE MONITOR. WHEN IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY I HAD IT SENT BACK THEY REPLACED IT QUICK., BUT THEN A COUPLE YEARS LATER GREEN POWER LIGHT IS ON SO IT LOOKS LIKE IT GETS POWER AND THE CABLE GOING TO POWER AND VIDEO ARE OK WHEN THIS WAS HAPPENING I WOULD TURN ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIME THEN WOULD COME ON AND USUALLY STAY ON THE WHOLE DAY. CAN'T SAY IT WAS HOT IT WOULD NOT COME ON WHEN U TURN ON / BOOT UP.. ONCE UP AND RUNNING ALL DAY SEEM TO WORK.

Sounds like it might be getting too hot and/or going bad. Not sure how to diagnose this without seeing it myself. That is the best that I can do. Your video card could be going bad. Try another video card on that monitor. This will be the only way to decide if it is the card or monitor.

My Microtek 710S Monitor screen goes black if left unattended for one minute. What do I do to keep this from happening?

Check the power setting of your PC.
  • If you are on windows;
  • Click on start button
  • If you have vista or windows 7, type "poweroptions" into the search bar.
If not, open control panel and find the power options inthere
  • In "power options" you can change when the displaygets turned off and when your PC will go to sleep, just change these settingsto the time you want, e.g. 2hours
I can offer support for other OS if required

My microtek flat screen monitor goes black every 5 seconds and must turn it off and back on and it repeats the same thing.

I assume that you have already try it on another PC with the same result.
Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what goes wrong: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further.

Out of range usually means that the computer is trying to use a resolution that is unsupported by the monitor. Try loading the PC in safe mode (for windows, press F8 before windows loads) and change the desktop resolution to 800x600, which is supported by pretty much any monitor. Restart the computer normally and you should get your video. Once inside windows you can experiment with different resolutions, and when it goes out of range, just wait 15 seconds for it to go back to 800x600.

The inverter is the most common item to fail on a LCd monitor. Capacitors usally fail the most. Are the tops of any of them popped up. If you had any shorted transistors the fuse would probably be blown. Usally labeled F1. I would replace all the capacitors first and go from there. Capacitors are cheap.

Computer not recognizing moniter

Resolution set too high for display.

Attach TUBE monitor, Start Windows, change resolution to 1024x768 (MAX) and then hit APPLY/OK.

Also check refresh rate, it is listed in hertz (hz) in advanced settings. Should be 70-72khz not faster than either.

Shut down PC, Connect LCD, you should have a decent picture.
