These chips use a standard serial eeprom chip. I used a $15 eeprom programmer from ebay, and a SOIC 8 pin chip clip. I've been meaning to make a cartridge holder with a 3d printer, just have not had the time, might just intercept the cable that connects to the print cartridge, and make a external circuit board to just eliminate the hassle. NEed to find a service manual for the W6200 first :(
No reseters for this printer, i have tried for so long, it uses a basic chip that is programmed to count the amount of drops used, i do electronics and still found it hard to try and access the chip, but i can tell you how to use the printer without a reseter, you can go into the ink-check and tell it not to detect the cartridges, this is done separately for each one, the only problem is that every time you send a job to it it will beep and say "check ink" , just hit the online and it will print, if you want 3 or so copies it will only beep once.
now this might help, to stop this ( from keep pressing "online" ) every time you want to print you can do the following ( legally i have to say "not recommended" ), you can connect a relay ( small voltage type, say about 1.5-3.0 volts ) to the message light, then the switch side is connected to the "online" button, i'de advise to put a switch incase a real problem needs to be seen. if you can't do this get someone who knows electronics.
In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts.
