Hi.

You do not need to connect two video cables, connect just one. Also if the computer and TV have both ports, bette using an HDMI to HDMI cable, rather that HDMI to VGA. You will need to connect sound cable along with video cable from computer.

On the TV ensure that you have selected the source. The TV does not automatically pick the source from VGA or computer HDMI. Use the source/input select button to locate the source.

On the computer ensure that you have enabled the external output. On laptops you often need to use a function key. On all Windows computer you have a control of connected monitors in Display Settings (personalize in Vista and 7).

I have connected my laptop to my element tv via vga cord;sound is comin frm laptop..want the sound frm TV; THEN, I have a headset/microphone ... can I connect my headset/microphone to the TV?

If you need to get sound from your TV, you should have a sound input socket in your TV. If you have that you can connect an audio cable from your sound sound socket to your TV.
The second option is that your laptop and your TV should have HDMI ports. If its there, you can use an HDMI cable(instead of VGA cable)to connect the two. With HDMI cable, you will get both video and audio through that single cable.

Guys, Recently i got LG 22" LCD TV. It has VGA port and HDMI port. When i connected my CPU cable toLCD via VGA port it didn't show anything, :"( i checked input MENU on remote then it shows only 4...

HDMI [High Definition Multimedia Interface]. VGA [Video Graphics Array]. AV [Audio Video]. By these definitions itself talk to you about the inputs your TV have; and it do not support VGA. Output from PC is VGA. Without a VGA input with the TV, you can't connect the PC to TV. I think I'm clear. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

What kind of wire do I need to connect my samsung laptop to panasonic viera hd 3d plasma tv?

Most TVs will have HDMI and RCA component and composite jacks. Some TVs will also have a VGA port. Your laptop will have a VGA port. (If the laptop is fairly new, it may also have an HDMI port.)

Not all TVs will support an HDMI signal from a computer, so the VGA signal is often better. However, that limits you to SD (anything with HDCP will fail.)

Very few TVs ship with the HDMI or component cables. However, there are some vendors who do package the HDMI cable with their TV. Without knowing which exact model of TV and laptop, I can only make a few suggestions. I know that the TCP42ST30 (Plasma 42") doesn't have a VGA port.

Look at your laptop for any external monitor port. VGA ports are generally blue female ports with 15 holes (D-Sub). If your TV has a matching VGA port, get a standard VGA monitor cable.

If you have the VGA port on the laptop but not on the TV, you can try a converting from VGA to HDMI. (You may need a DVI to VGA adapter and either a DVI to HDMI cable or a DVI to HDMI adapter.) Note: this gives an analog signal (RGB format) to the TV. You'll also need to make sure that your VGA port is active (in the BIOS for some computers) and then set your computer to send the signal to the external monitor. It is best to turn off both the computer and the TV before connecting the two. Then turn on the TV and set it to the correct input before turning on the computer. (In Windows 7, I set the video signal for the external monitor by right clicking on the desktop and selecting Graphics Properties. Set the signal to the external monitor and click Apply. Then click OK (in the external monitor's screen).)

If this doesn't work, you need a VGA to component video converter. (Not a VGA to component video cable - those are for projectors that read the RGB signal.) See http://www.ramelectronics.net/audio-video/video-converters/vga-rgb-hv-to-component-video/c10000-c11200-c11215-p1.html .

Some laptops come with an HDMI, mini-HDMI or a DisplayPort option. For the latter two, you will need the appropriate cable with that end and the HDMI connector on the other. Then connect the TV and the computer as described above. (Note: my TVs accept a computer signal at the HDMI port labeled HDMI/DVI. However, you need to make sure that your TV understands this signal. It isn't the same format as that from a set-top box. My laptop has VGA and HDMI out; the desktops have VGA, DVI and HDMI (on one).)

If you add a comment with the model of your TV and laptop, I'll be glad to give you more specific options to connect the TV and the computer.

I hope this helps.

After confirming those connection on your T.V. and Laptop, you can just the HDMI cable to connect you Laptop to T.V. Also you need to choose HDMI on your T.V. settings and for your Laptop you can just switch the display by pressing FN+F4 or F5.

WHAT TYPE OF CABLE DO I NEED TO CONNECT HP NC6400 LAPTOP TO HD TV TO WATCH MOVIE ON TV FROM LAPTOP? VGA TO HDMI CABLE? THANKS

Hi.

The best way is to get a s-video converter to connect your round s-video computer output to your HDMI port on your tv. This is the best you can do according to your laptop connections. You will need a s-video cable, HDMI upscale converter box and HDMI cable.

The other way is to plug a VGA cable to your tv VGA port if you have one.

VGA to HDMI is also possible with a converter. A standard VGA cable with a HDMI plug on the other side will not work because your computer sends out an analog video signal and HDMI is digital only.

Hope it helps!

How do i connect my adventt9101 to my sony lcd tv, i want to use hdmi leads but i dont think my pc has hdmi port? any help

If you don't have an HDMI connection on your computer, then you will need to get a VGA cable. There should be a VGA connection on your tv. Just disconnect the monitor on your computer and connect the VGA cable from the computer monitor port to the VGA port on the tv. You may have to set the tv for PC or Aux input. You won't have high definition or sound to the tv with a VGA cable though. The sound will still come through your PC speakers.

Can you connect a acer aspire one to the tv via hdmi

You cannot connect your acer aspire one via HDMI as its not having HDMI port. But you can connect via VGA cable and most of the TV supporting HDMI will also definitely support VGA input.
