With the 52" DLP , there are 3 fans, 2 of which you can see. the 3rd is similar to what you would see on a CPU. To get to this fan you must pull out the back of the set, at the bottom you will see a metallic channel that runs over to the filter on the side of the tv. un do the screws holding it down and you will find the mini fan. this may be the fan that is beginning to fail, as well as you will find that the heat sink is probably covered with ****, you will want to vaccum that stuff off to get the max heat exchange. To replace that mini fan, you can either go to allied or digikey to get a comparable fan with possible more CFM than the stock or go through some where you can a OEM replacement fan.

most rear projectors will turn themselves off whenever the lamp is dead. what we call protective mode. in this case the yellow light may be for the lamp. otherwise check if all the fan are working properly.
But MAKE SURE you let sufficient time for the tv to cool off before unplugging the main.

hope this helps

Hello!! It might be either that the tv is overheating because of the lack of air, or it may also be your ballast.
First of all I recommend you clean the fans, so the air flow won't be blocked, don't use something that mioght damage some of the boards that are inside, you can buy one of those air cans to clean computers, if that does not work, I recommend you listen closely and notice if there's a clicking sound, if so it might be the ballast.
