Test or Replace your PSU then test all leads that are attached to your hard drive sounds like a faulty lead of some sorts then
try replacing all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty because a computer has to have an end to the circuit any fulty leads will lead to no boot up
hope this helps

your system has a critical hardware failure and needs serviced if the power up goes like this first green looks ok and then a quick yellow light to red and dead its the yellow light of death sorry there is no simple ifix i can give if you google (YLOD) you can better educate yourself on what happened and how to prevent it like when experiencing freeze-up never power off from behind it kills the system with lightning speed always hold the power button until it powers off last ditch effort is to use the power switch in the rear of the unit ok i hope i helped in some way and sorry to be the bringer of bad news but i do wish you luck :)

ViewSonic VA1930wm Screen stays on for about 2 seconds, and then goes off. 1) If no computer is connected you get a "no signal" message which stays for about 1 seconds and then goes off; blue...

Very typical of View Sonic. Sounds like a back backlight or inverter. I would go to www.viewsonic.com and open up a RMA. Most view sonic screens have a 3 year warranty. They will repair at no cost ..(if it is within that period) There is a date code on the back of the screen that will help you validate the above information.

1 Answer

Monitor is switching off immediately after system is switched on. Again when monitor is switched on, images appear for about 3 seconds and again monitor switches off.pl give the solution.

You need to determine if you is turning off or going into standby mode. When your monitor shuts off, the power light will turn orange if it is in standby or the light will turn completely off if the monitor turns off. If your monitor goes to standby, that means that your monitor is losing signal which indicates a problem with your PC. #1 Make sure cable is firmly secured and both screws are tight #2 Check your video card make sure that it is firmly in its slot. Take it out and put it back in. *as long as your computer is open give it a good cleaning with compressed air* If those things check out it is possible that your video card has failed and needs to be replaced.
If your monitor is powering off #1Check plugins- try something else (i.e. lamp) in the outlet #2 Try your PC's power cord in your monitor

Am doing a 'remodel'. Discovered the 2 lights in

Well you have to make sure of three things with three way switches...where your power comes in, where your power goes out, and that your travelers are not mixed up. Lets talk about a normal three way circuit. Power comes in to your first switch. You attach your power wire to the common terminal, usually a different color than the other terminals. The other two are your travelers, if your switches work partially you probably have these mixed up. The color traveler you have on one switch terminal has to go on the exact terminal on the other switch. Also check that your neutral is not swapped with a traveler, this will cause your eyes not to light. In between switches there is most of the time three wire cable (2 travelers and a neutral---while two wire cable is used before the switches and after it going to the light). The power then goes out of the common terminal of your second switch. If all wiring is good, I would take your switches out and check them with a continuity tester to see if they are bad. Check continuity on each switch between the common and each traveler terminal.

I have playstation 3 model # CECHH01, a game is inside, when i power on the light goes green, then quickly goes blue then yellow and goes back to red and powers off leaving the red light blinking. What do...

well sounds like your PS3 needs to be reflowed or reballed. I would highly recomend you have a professional do the repair. as fas as having a game stuck inside the machine you can get it out in under 10 seconds by doing this.

1) turn off power switch in back of ps3
2) place finger on eject button and hold there while ps3 is off ( no red light)
3) while holding finger on the eject button turn power switch on the back of ps3 on , hold finger on eject button untill the disk ejects.
4) turn power switch off and have unit repaired or replaced.

if unit is covered by warranty and you send it to sony you must get your disk out of the system as you will NOT get it back if you send it to sony. Most reputable repair shops will return your disk with the system or give it to you before they take the system in for repairs. I ALWAYS give the game disks back before a customer leaves my shop as it leaves me with less to keep track of.

Abnormally Switches off

I'm afraid that this sounds like either a fuse, capacitors or a blown relay on the motherboard. Otherwise, it could also have something to do with some kind of problem involving the battery.

First and foremost, take the battery out of the system before doing anything else. See what happens without the battery in the laptop. If the problem seems to be solved by doing so by some chance, then you probably have a short in the battery itself. (Which would explain the issue.)

Beyond that, the most I can advise on is checking the power settings in your BIOS as quickly as you possibly can before it shuts off. See if there is anything in particular that might have an effect on the system's operation. I would disable any power-saving features and such... Just to cut those unnecessary variables out of the equation.

See if you can get it into the BIOS...and see if it still shuts down once it is in the BIOS. (No doubt it will... It wouldn't make ANY sense if it didn't, now would it?)

Try those things for now... But do NOT rate me if this does not fix your laptop. Remember that we are here to TRY our best to provide a solution. This is not meant to be a solution.

This is meant to find a cause for the problem. Only THEN can we give any kind of solid solution or conclusion.

Either way, I ask that you wait to rate me until after we follow these steps and I give you my conclusions. If the laptop is fragged, I ask that you give me a fair rating based on my attempt. Not based on the fact that I could not fix your laptop.

Remember that hardware failure is NOT OUR FAULT. We tried to help either way.

Thanks and let me know what happens. K?
