hi William.
this could be a few things wrong here. What do you do if your keyboard isn t working?
Shut down the PC. Turn the keyboard upside-down (if you have a laptop, keep it open and turn the whole thing upside-down) and gently tap on the back so that crumbs and dirt fall out. Then use a can of compressed air (you can buy this at any computer store for a few dollars) to blow out whatever is still stuck

Seems that the connection between the CD drive & the laptop's motherboard was loosened or broken due to the fall. Check & make sure that the CD drive is fit tight in place. You might even want to uninstall it from the laptop, check its connection with the motherboard & re-install it again.
Yeah you should first reseat the ram module. Or have it clean with soft eraser only its edge connector. But first you should power it it down completely, disconnect from any power source and disconnect it battery.
If this doesn't help. Boot your unit in DOS mode by starting it in a bootable drive. If you got a command prompt. You might consider the corruption of files in your harddrive or it actually gets damaged by the fall.
Same thing happened to my powershot A590. Not sure if this will help but i used tape and taped the lens up and left it for an hour. I took it off and it stayed open.
As a start, I would suggest reseating the Hard Drive, Memory modules, DVD reader, and anything else that you feel comfortable in accessing. I would suspect that a component or cable was knocked loose by the fall. The problem may be more serious than this, but it could be as simple as making sure that everything that you can get to is plugged in solidly. Best of luck and have a good day! Ron
You have to remove the coffee bean hopper, there are two screws on it. Below it is the grinder and there must be a rubber seal between them. Perhaps it is crooked or broken, and then the coffee beans pass and fall down.
It sounds like your lap top took a fall. try booting into your bios and check your boot order and see if it see your hard drive there. has some one pulled out your hard drive and changed any jumpers?
