Our infoprint 1125 is on a ibm mid range computer system & is accessible to 9 users. when we print an envelope, the printer asks for a manual load of the envelope, how do i change this to automatic...

It's been my experience with these machines that envelopes are always fed through the manual feed tray.

The Tray 2 cassette's pick up assembly is different than the manual feed,
it has 2 rollers that have a wide area they can pick up while the manual feed has just 1 single roller.
If you remove the tray cassette and look under the printer you can see the two rollers, these would probably have a hard time picking up a standard size envelope.
Also the tray would have to path the paper up and would have to bend it through the paper path which can cause problems with the flaps on the envelopes.

Best method is to use the manual feed tray and to also have the back cover open so that the envelopes path straight through the printer without being curled.

(I've seen these in a ton of places ranging from small business to banks and they always have the envelopes in the manual feed)

Wipe the paper feed rollers with a clean rag wetted with plain water. You can also replace the feed rollers, search for "paper feeding kit" for this printer. Should be $20 to $30.

The paper will start to feed out of the tray, then stops. I can feed a single piece and it will go through just fine.

You need to clean the paper path. Use rubbing alcohol, on long cotton swabs and lint free cloth, to clean the slide path and EVERY roller. The rollers get a dust buildup on them after time and become slippery.

I have an Easy Share printer dock series 3 that has paper loaded

To prevent misfeeds and to make sure your pictures look their best, we recommend that you keep the feed roller clean. IMPORTANT: Unplug the power before cleaning the feed rollers.
  1. Unplug the AC power cord from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the paper tray from the printer, and leave the paper tray door open. IMPORTANT: Do not use cotton or cotton swabs to clean the feed roller.
  3. Lightly moisten a lint-free cloth with water.
  4. Use the moistened cloth to gently wipe clean the surface of the feed roller. Advance the feed roller with your thumb as necessary, and continue cleaning.
  5. Let the feed roller dry fully before plugging the AC power cord back into the power outlet.
  6. Insert the paper tray into the printer, then press the Print button to resume printing.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

241.10 paper jam

Um I don't know what the other guy is saying since your paper jam has nothing to do with where he is telling to look...

From the service manual:

Error 241 subcode 10:
Page was not properly picked from tray 1.

Possible Causes:
Failure to feed possible causes include:
• Edge locking
• Worn or contaminated pick tires
• Overfilling of tray past the fill line.

Action:

Fan media.
Turn media over.
Reduce amount of media loaded in tray 1.
Replace pick tires.*

To replace pick tires:

Integrated tray autocompensator pick roll assembly removal

1. Remove the integrated tray, and look underneath the printer for the autocompensator arm. Pull the arm
down.

2. Press on the end of the tab (A) and pull the pick roll off the arm. Repeat this step for the pick roll on the other side. Next, gently release the autocompensator arm. Discard the used pick rolls.

Installation
1. Remove the new pick rolls from their packaging.
2. Pull the autocompensator arm down. Locate the recessed area on the pick roll, and align it with the tab on the arm. There are two arrows on each pick roll. Make sure the bottom arrow faces you as you align the recessed area with the tab.

3. Push the pick roll onto the arm with the tab aligned. Repeat this step on the other side to install the other pick roll.

Keeps "jambing" - won't fully pick up the paper and move forward

I work on these on a daily basis, the standard tray you are using is "Tray 2", which is the drawer tray on the bottom of the printer. If you open the front flap of the printer you will see a place where you can rest paper, This is known as "Tray 1". Remove Tray 2 and Try printing from Tray 1, (you may have to go through your menu items and make Tray 1 your default tray) If the printer is printing fine from tray 1 then the problem is one of two things.

1. Your rollers are worn
-you'll see one in the middle of the drawer tray when you pull it out
-the other one is located in the tray housing, remove tray 2 from the printer and slide your hand along the roof of the tray housing, you will be able to see/feel another roller.
Replacing both these rollers does the job 90% of the time.

2. The other thing that causes this problem is that the lifting mechanism in tray 2 is broken. This is usually not the case, and it is recommended that you replace the rollers before trying another repair.

Rollers should feel spongy and rough, they become hard and smooth the more they get wore down, until they are no longer able to catch and pull paper.

I had the same problem, the transfer roller rubber was completely slick and would not pick up paper (it would also make a clicking sound).
Replaced it and the problem went away.

Jams

First of all, the feed rolls may be very slick, try cleaning them several times with fantastic or 409. They are probably very smooth and just spinning on the paper.
The feed clutch or motor, depending on the model, may be bad and not driving the feed rolls.
The paper tray may not be lifting the paper stack to the rollers.

Paper will not feed

What you need to do is remove the tray, and look for the feed rollers and clean them with either alcohol or a soapy cleaner like Fantastic.
Clean them a few times, make sure they are dry then try again.
That may solve it completely, or your rollers may be slick and need replaced.
When those rolls get dirty, it's like trying to drive on ice. You just slip. Also, if those rolls are needing replaced, I wouldn't be upset with the refurb work. Sometimes those rolls fake you out. They appear and to touch feel perfectly fine, but try and feed a piece of paper, and it just won't.
If you can, look into the paper tray with a flash light, and see if they are turning. If they are, then dirt or slick rolls is the only problem you have.

Pickup Roller not turning for upper tray

I think it is not a problem with the parts you mention, I think it may be that the printer is not getting told to feed from manual bypass tray (tray1) (ie driver setting)

what software are you using, is driver correct, what operating system, what are you tring to feed from bypass just standard?

I have fixed hundreds of these and the parts you mention I doubt is the fix

There are options on how this tray behaves available, in driver

tell me more and I'll help you
