You can try performing a hard reset, which is holding the power and home buttons at the same time for about 30 seconds, and if the issue is still not resolved you would need to replace the device through apple

I dropped my iphone 2g 16GB in a toilet bowl last month. I managed to dry it out but currently having problems in restoring it. ITunes just keep giving me errors like 1611, 1604, 23 and so on. I tried to...

Hey Chee, Usually an iphone with liquid damage may cause damage to internals that may go unnoticed if it is able to work. Depending on the error message you get when restoring with itunes may mean different things.

  • 1604 is just to check your usb cable to make sure its directly (not through a hub) connected to a usb 2.0
  • 1611 and 23 are usually hardware issues that cannot be solved with a restore

It is not working Inspiron 1464, completely crashed when i connct the Ac cable the batt meter doesnt even light up, power buttons non responsive. Pls help Urgent.

Take the battery out and try booting the system. The battery can go bad and short itself and stop the starting process. Try this and get back to me if it doesn't work out.

Is a 2g touchscreen compatible with a first gen Iphone? Will it work if I buy the part on my 1gen phone?

Do you mean a replacement glass to put on your 1st gen iPhone? It can get a bit confusing with the 'Generation' labelling, as 2G in fact refers to 1st Generation iPhones (any prior to the 3G, hence 2G - it relates to the data connection protocol more than the hardware version).
So, with that in mind - am I correct in assuming that you have seen a 2G screen for sale?
If so then yes it will work on your 1st Gen (2G) iPhone. I haven't compared the 2G/3G screens that closely, but I do know some of the sensors are located in a slightly different position on the 3G which may in itself be an issue.
Let me know if you want me to further investigate and I'll help if I can!

My iphone 2g only shows the apple for 10 seconds then shuts down

Try restoring it...here's how...
  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
  2. Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPhone or iPod touch to turn off.
  3. Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable to iPhone. When you reconnect the USB to iPhone, the device should then power on.

Note: If you see the message "Charging... Please Wait" , let the device charge for at least 10 minutes to ensure the battery has some charge and then start with step 2 again.
  4. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
  5. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button andiTuneswill display the recovery mode message:

If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, then disconnect the USB cable from iPhone and repeat steps 3-6.
After this you'll need to jailbreak it too....

Iphone 2g,home button does not working.

this may require a new flex. This piece of flex comes from the motherboard under the battery and down to the bottom where on it is included the home button and charging block. It will also have the microphone and speaker attached to it. It is a fairly complex job to be attemted by yourself and I would suggest bringing it to a mobile phone repair centre.

My iphone 2g wont charge & wont turn on

Try using another cable or charger. A damaged charger or cable could cause it not to charge.
Otherwise, contact apple or apple store for repair.
