I had to do a clean install of Win7 from Win Vista after all sorts of problesm with an upgrade and spending hours talking to Microsoft support--they suggested the clean install, I got all my files and emails off and back on after the clean install but even though I made backup discs for the Vista OS with all the preinstalled software on them it seems impossible to recover the pre installed programmes--Its Cybersuite I wanted There are no visible setup files on any of the 3 discs and running from booit insists on installing Vista back The only way to do that in Vista was to activate a programme called Recovery Manager whioch would then interogate the discs and allow you to reinstall just the programmes I cant get a download of Recovery Manager that works anywhere We have decoded not to but HP again

also , know that each newer windows
the PNP engine
can not support drivers on many old systems
that is is because those are old chips
and
1: they dont make them now.
2: and due to that fact no w10 drivers.

so that means if you box is old
ask what you can run on it.first.
ask HP first.

most old visa boxes are too old
to upgrade, much past w7
if at all.
there are exceptions.

learn this too.
when you upgrade to w10
its a bit smarter now.
it will keep some applications and dump half the others.
I know this for a fact,
its a new feature too.
the new OS will make folder with old dead
program files.
letting you know the bad news.
(i like this feature, one if MS best ever)
so that means if you are unhappy
you click go back to w7 or vista.
in 30 days,

thats only APPS
but drivers too will be missing
for very old chips

MS even publishes a list of supported chips, (each release)
and is devoid of VAST dead makers of chips
MS can not force any dead company to go back to the living, be fun to watch though. (like zombies)
