This is a fairly common problem with HP laps. Nobody, even HP, has come up with a definitive reason. Best thing to try:
>Replace the wireless NIC (network interface card) from your laptop. It will be accessed by removing a cover on the rear. This may or may not work.
OR
>Remove the NIC (described above). Get a USB wireless internet adapter. Install the drivers that come with it, then reboot the computer and plug it in to any USB port. Hopefully that should solve your problem.
HERE is a link to an adapter.
I carry one of these whenever I go out on calls in case the owner's computer has a failed NIC and can't access the internet and it never fails for me.

>Remove the wireless NIC

Can't get conection from router to lap top . just had lt cleaned out. it was hooked up before.

1. Each wireless device has to be allow to connect to the router via a specific IP address assigned by the router in its router table.
It also can setup a wireless device, such as a laptop or phone via a MAC Address ( Media Access Control) number that is assigned to almost every wireless device.
2. Check your user manual for correct firewall and wireless setup.
3. Your manual should be on the CD that came with your router (PDF format)

I have a hp lap top with wireless internet. It says that it is connected and i try to get on the internet and the gives me a error message. what do i do??

From what you have told us I would unplug and replug in your telephone or cable modem then your wireless router in that order.

If it still dosent work then try the repair internet connection under network troubleshooter on your laptop.

If that doesn't work delete the connection you are having trouble with (on the computer), reboot the computer and rediscover the wireless router/access point and see if that gets it.

Best I can due with limited info. hope it helps.

Wireless in dell lap top

It has something to do with the use of your wireless connection especially if it is an open access service. It is possible that there are many users in your area and you have to share the bandwidth of the wireless connection that reduce the efficiency of your laptop. Try finding another source where only few people connect.

Wireless laptop

To use wireless conection you need a Wireless Access Point i.e. wirless router. Then you can connect your laptop to this router and use internet. But if you have modem in your lap (generally all laps are coming with modem now) you should direct attach the phone line to your lap. In this case you need a dial-up no which you can ask your ISP.

If any problem just Ask me

Thanks
