Question about Sony Cybershot S650 Digital Camera

2 Answers

Bright pictures I have had my Sony Cyber Shot (DSC-S650) for about 6 mo. I have tried all different settings for the flash but almost all of my pictures come out with the person very white and bright. The pictures are fine if taken outside in natural light but anything other than that and my pictures are very white and bright. I have even tried to turn the flash all the way down on the manual setting. This is the third Sony Cybershot camera that I have owned and have never needed to change any of the settings. This is very dissapointing as most of my pictures that I have taken since receiving this camera are useless. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hey JAKI-LYNN,
I would reset the camera to the factory default settings in case something got set wrong. You can reset the camera in the setup menu and it is called initializing the camera. I would then set the mode dial to either to the soft portrait setting, or the twilight portrait setting. If you still have the problem I would try manually adjusting exposure to underexpose the image, and instructions on how to do this are on page 23 of your manual. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

On lighter backgrounds the pictures have horizontal lines as shown, what is going? This only happens on light objects and backgrounds.

This can happen if the light is too bright. When you capture bright object/background, try to turn off your flash light, see if you'll get better picture.

Hope this help (^_^)

My sony dsc t100 cyber shot seems to have a slow shutter speed and the pictures are blurry. I have tried multipel settings. I can hear it "c l i c k" very slow even in burst mode. Was wondering if it could...

Use Focus Lock.

Not applicable for the E-series digital cameras.
The shutter is delayed because of the additional flashes. In turn, make sure the picture's subjects wait for the additional flashes.

Blurring pictures

I had the same problem. Somehow my flash was set on "SL - Keep subjects and distant backgrounds bright." When I changed the flash to "Auto", it seemed to get rid of the blurry pictures.

Seems like you have the AF Illuminator set to on in the SET UP. This lights up every time the camera thinks it is not light enough, gives more brightness to the picture!
