Question about Vivitar 7024 Digital Camera

1 Answer

My laptop does not have a disc drive, and when I loaded it to a friend's PC, and attempted to load the program to a flash drive, nothing happened...is there a download available that will allow me to pull the photos off my camera and email them without having to go through a lot of hassle? If not, can you please instruct me on how to pull the program off the PC and get it on my flash drive so I can load it from there? I do not have a PC at home, and this is very frustrating. Thanx

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I have attempted to create a recovery disk.32GB Flash drive. Only several tiny files totaling 1,974 KB are on the flash drive now that the process is complete.

I making the following assumptions.

1. You are using Windows 8.

2. You have not deleted the recovery discs on the drive.

So
A) Type recovery in the search bar (spyglass)
B) Run the recovery program, each manufacturer has their own version, but it covers 3 discs of 4.7Gb long. Select all discs to be saved.
C) Choose the USB flash disc as the destination, having put it in before type in the search criteria.
D) It then will save the recovery disc, but none of the data, to restore Windows operating system to same type of PC laptop.

The start up was loading and it is slow..and my friend said that the hard disk of my netbook is the problem..what will i do?

The slow start can be a caused by the processor speed, ram, graphics, bios, many things can cause it to load up slowly if your friend thinks its the hard drive without physically hearing the sounds it makes then its probably is, i would recommend you buy a new hard drive for your laptop and installing your operating system depending on how big you want the hard drive to be can be a bit expensive getting a hard drive with at-least 2-4 meg cache will greatly speed it up too.

I would like to use my usb flash drive to install and troubleshoot my windows xp operating system. My dvd cdrw drive is not working. I have an error stating that the explorasy.sys file is not there when I...

We are going to do this the easy way....you need a computer of course and one that has a working cd/dvd player, a flash drive and a windows installation disc. A recovery disc will not work...you need a windows installation disc.

Go to the control panel > folder options > click on the "View" tab, scroll down and UN-check the box the says "hide protected operating system files", now click the bubble above that says "Show hidden files and folders.
Now get out of the control panel and insert the windows disc in the drive.

Go ahead and insert the flash drive into a usb port and let windows recognize the device and load it. It will give the device a drive letter.

After the disc loads, it may appear on your desktop and say to install Windows....just exit the program but don't eject the disc. Open "My Computer" and look for your cd/dvd drive and right click on it. Choose "open" from the choices and a list of files and folders will appear. Select all the files except for a file that says "desktop

Copy all the files and paste them into the flash drive that you can find in "My Computer" The files from the disc will now be written to the flash drive. Once the copy is completed, the flash drive can now be used to boot the computer.

Insert the usb drive into the laptop that needs fixing and power it up. After the flash screen appears, tap the F12 key to bring up the multi-boot options. Choose USB drive and hit enter. The laptop will boot off the usb drive and initiate the Windows files.

Have a program to down load, when i insert disc nothing shows up o

Your disc drive then doesn't have the option for an automatic startup enabled when a disc is inserted. There are a few other ways then to make it "go." If you are using a windows operating system, click on start then on run. In the box that pops up type D: and hit enter. That will start up your disc. You can also select from the start menu, "my computer" and from that page select D: as well.

HP uses a Tattoo system that has to be applied to the Motherboard and the Hard Drive. That error indicates that one of those is missing. You will have to get the tattoo program from HP.

Hi there,

You will need some kind of disc utility.
Open the utility with the drive connected and it should show up in the options of drives.
You should then be able to format the drive.

It should then be usable.

If not take it back to the shop..

HP Compac NX5000 wont load XP Home on new hard drive

This situation leads me to believe that the CD or DVD drive is faulty,,or the install disc you are using is scratched or dirty.
Try cleaning the disc and begin again.
Another option is to take the hard drive out and using a 2.5 to 3.5 inch HD adapter ,,plug into a desktop PC as a slave.
And copy your WinXp cd onto a partition on your laptop HD.
Then using a Win98Se floppy boot disc you can access the winXP and install from there.

DVD issue

I believe you're looking in the wrong place. The disc drive in a laptop accepts the same size discs as a disc drive in a desktop. There is a small button you push on the disc drive and the drive slides out. On laptops the drive doesn't slide completely out like on desktops, it will pop out about an inch then you will need to pull it out the rest of the way to get the disc inserted.
