I'm also having the same problem, but I think because I'm out of the country and the voltage is not regulated where I am (at least i've heard of that being the problem). Is this a legitimate reason?

If you have not been oiling the blades that would be the first try at fixing the noise. If that is not the problem then there is an internal adjustment that needs to be made. You can send your unit to the Andis Co for repair at 1800 Renaissance Blvd Sturtevant WI 53177. If your unit is under warranty the repair will be done at no charge. If your unit is not under warranty there is a $6.50 service fee plus shipping and parts. If you would like to talk with a customer service rep please call 1-800-558-9441.

My new andis t outliner making a loud noise

The Andis T-Outliner that you purchase from the USA is not for UK voltage 220 50 HZ, the Voltage is too high, the only way to control the voltage is transformer from 220V to 120 V. The Andis Trimmer that may work for you is the GTX trimmer this trimmer was manufactured for Canada and there voltage is 220V 50HZ.

Andis t outliner is making a loud noise someone help please?

This unit will not work correctly in the UK as it has a magnetic motor. No matter how you try to tune it it will be very loud and eventually the motor will burn out.

My andis T-outliner is makeing a loud noise

The problem you describe is most likely due to the fact that the machine you bought is designed to operate on 110v/60Hz electrical supply as used in North America. In fact the T-Outliner is only designed to operate on 110v/60Hz so even if you use a transformer you will only convert the voltage from 110v to 230v. You will not convert the frequency 'Hz' from 60Hz to 50Hz which is necessary with an electrical product with many moving parts such as a clipper to operate correctly on the European electrical supply which is 230v/50Hz........Check on ebay 'Voltage and Frequency Converter' about 65 pounds. The only solution

There is a power management mechanism on the side opposite of the power switch that looks like a circle with a **** in it. To set this to the optimum setting, plug the trimmers in and cut it on. Next, your going to use a flat head screwdriver to turn the knob clockwise until it clatters continuously. Next, you turn the know back in the other direction slowly until the clattering stops altogether. Now, the "noise" should be gone and your trimmers are set to perform as they did when you first bought them.
