Question about Marvin 7060 Utility Heater

1 Answer

Need New Rotary Switch

Have a Marvin 7060 with a rotary switch that has decided to quit. Have located replacement switch on internet, in China with minimum order of 10k. They will not sell individual switch. Where can I get just one, or maybe two incase the three other similar heaters I have in my shop decide to act-up. Any assistance you can provide in locating a switch would be appreciated. Please do not referr me to a repairman unless he sells switches. I paid $29.00 for the heater, not worth repair unless I do it.

I have a Marvin #7060 Portable electric heater which I have mounter on the ceiling rafter and tilted to my bench. It is just perfect for my little ulitity shed. This unit is approx. 7 years old, but has been in use only the last 5 years. Recently have noted the unit does NOT shut off when when string is pulled. The process before was: 1 pull = 1 element on, 2 pulls = 2nd element on (both elements on), 3rd pull = both elements off. NOW unit will not shut completely off. No matter how many times I pull the string to shut it off, only one element shuts off, the other is still on! I have to unplug the unit from the wall to shut it off safely. I am handicapped now and always having to stand up and plug and unplug the heater is quite a chore now. I have been in a wheelchair for over 5 years now and see no hope of ever being able to walk again.

Any help/suggestions/ideas will be greatly appreciated.

    Respectfully yours.

Im somewhat of a self proclaimed appliance repair man. im very unfamiliar with this product as the one i have was given to me in non working condition but the best i can tell the switch does not rotate when you tilt the heater and is stuck a 0 and im guessing that's the "OFF" position. I have looked on ebay and there is nothing at all under a "Marvin 7060" search heading so i am stumped just like the rest of you.

Looking for cycling thermostst for this heater. 3 terminals

It is my understanding, that an electric baseboard type thermostat will work fine. The hook up should be fairly easy as they are both 110 volts. But, I need to caution you, that these heaters have a plastic housing and have a tendency to melt, if not installed properly.

Hope this helped you.

I have an oil filled radiator heater. The brand name on the cover is TouchPoint. It looks like the control and form factor of the DeLonghi brand of oil heaters. The unit was made in China. It was tipped...

I am about to replace the switche on my DeLonghi, but have not received it yet. If you can wait a few days I will post the wiring points here. I'm cold too!

The pull cord keeps breaking. Can it be replaced, or does it need a new switch?

I replaced cord with metal wire aprox. 2 inches long and reattached cord to that. The metal grill wears out the rope. Of course you'll have to take it apart to get to switch.
