Question about Whirlpool Refrigerators

Since you did not mention a model number all of here at FixYa will have to shoot from thr hip. Open the door and check the door switch plunger to make sure that the light is going out when you depress the switch. Even then that same switch can be bad as it has 2 contacts common to the power lead. One for the light and one for the ice auger motor. It is possible for the light to work and the auger motor not to work.
