Turn up the radio and the noise will be drowned-out. Consider replacing the car with a car that hasn't been sitting idle for so long. It sounds like it could be the air-conditioning condensor or the transmission. Take it to a mechanic and consider replacing the transaxle fluid.

My mechanic has found the transmission in my 2007 Toyota corolla ascent seca Hatch(automatic) to be noisy in first gear and also to be noisy when in top gear cruising at 60-70kms. There is a whining n

planetary gears are normally straight cut spur gears and will be noisy in operation. There may be wear in the shafts that they run on and there may be needle bearing wear. Normally you will not hear the noise as you are inside the car. The whine is an indication of a mechanical problem and will be there in all gears . There is a possibility that the noise is from the diff but if you listen carefully when driving if it is there under load but changes on over run(coasting) then it will be the diff of is on and off when you hold a steady speed it will be the diff. Have an accredited transmission specialist shop give you another opinion but if it is the transmission I would not race out right away to have it replaced.

I ran my 2006 toyota corolla into the garage door! It was at a very low speed so thankfully it only did a little damage. I need to take the right side of the front bumper off and so a few minor repairs,...

I dont own a toyota so i couldnt tell you for sure..but i do know one thing for sure is that you must be careful that you disable the air bag sensors which are usually near the front bumper on most cars before you work on the bumper so that you dont set them off by accident.

Whine from 2005 corolla automatic transmission

Have the tranny serviced with fluid change and filter, if noise it still there it is the torque converter . Have the dealer fix it ,and have it on paper with dealer invoice when it is done. Do all this before warranty expires. IT IS NOT USUAL for any car, Toyota included, to have tranny whine!!!!!
