88 toyota pick up v6 keeps blowing efi fuse

you may have a short of some kind, when a fuse blows repeatedly it is no good just replacing, you are being told that something is wrong with the equipment.
You will almost certainly have to visit a technician for a diagnosis. It is unlikely to be something that an inexperienced end user can sort out I am afraid.

GOOD LUCK

How to set dk on cobra29 ltd classic

reverse the procedure in the way you turn it up. You need a watt meterand a small non metallic screw driver.hook the meter between the radio and the antenna and turn it on.Now find l14 , it will be near the final. Watch your meter and turn the screw slow and it will either go up or down ,which ever way you need it to go. Have a great day.

How do i find and replace the finals in a cobra 29ltd classic

The protection diode (a black, tub looking devise) hooked to the positive power wire near the back of the radio, is most likely your problem. Check to see if any doides are shorted by using a Volt/Ohm Meter by checking for a short. For more imformation or help, email me at wyoed1@aol.com.

I have a cobra ltd 29 bt hooking to a 102 inch whip and cannot get m swr readings down under 3 or it will go up higher then the calibrate triangle instead of down. my antenna is mounted with a gumdrop...

  • Sounds to me like you need to check the connectors and connections on that coax. A cobra29 and a 102" whip is a simple enough set up and should not produce that high of SWR unless the coax or the connectors on the coax are pretty messed up. Also i recommend putting an SWR meter in line.
  • The meters on them Cobras can be accurate sometimes but I trust an inline meter much more.
  • Ground it again to make sure.

Fuse keeps blowing when turning on power

When it does this voltage was hooked up backwards you will have to change the resistor.Don't try it again or you'll mess up the radio worst. The more you change the fuses the more it will mess up in the radio since you alwayed blew the resistor next to go will be your voltage regulator then the IC chip and so on.

Have cobra 29 nw ltd keeps blowing fuses inline and in cigarette lighter adapter adapter is 10 amps and inline is no more than 5 amps

This is an easy fix if you are comfortable soldering.

You must have hooked it up backwards. Big problem when using a cigarette lighter adapter. You have to be careful, if you hook a radio up backwards you blow the polarity protection diode.

  • Go to radio shack and buy an N1004 diode.
  • Open the radio
  • Look towards the back right of the radio for a black diode D23. it will probably look burnt, but not always.
  • Use a soldering wick to remove the solder holding the diode in.
  • Remove it, and replace the diode making sure its going in the same direction as the old on. Strip on the side the triangle is pointing.
  • Solder it in.
  • Test the radio
That should do it.

Make sure you are careful to hook the radio up to power corrctly.

Blowing fuses with wiring CB to battery

Is the wire going to the battery touching chasis ground at all? Accidentally pinched it, cut wire etc? If not the the power supply may be fried.
