There are 2 microphone jacks, one located on the rear of the case and the other under the lower front cover. just look for the jack that has a picture of a microphone next to it.

Plugged in microphone not working

We really need more specific information to answer your question, like what kind of computer and operating system. But in the most general terms, make sure you are plugging your microphone into the microphone port and not the headphone port. Check that the volume setting is turned up and not muted. You might also have to turn the microphone on through the sound settings (usually found by right-click on the volume).

My microphone wont work

Is it plugged into the microphone jack or is it built in? Make sure you have the volume turned up on the microphone and make sure the microphone is not muted. Also go into your audio properties and make sure the voice recording and microphone is selected and you might be able to run a test from there also.

How do i turn the microphone on, on my Toshiba laptop

1 . Turn your computer on. Be sure that the speakers on your computer are turned on as well.

2 . Attach the adapter to the microphone cable, if it has not been done already.

3 . Find your computer's microphone input. On most PCs, there will be an area in back of the tower with red, blue and green plug-in ports. The red port is the one for microphones.

4 . Plug the microphone cable into the red port. If you see ports that are labeled "line-in" and "mic-in," be sure to plug the microphone into the port that says "mic-in."

5 . Double-click the small speaker icon on your computer to open up the mixer. Make sure the microphone column is not muted and adjust your volume until you are satisfied.

Hope the above information will be helpful to you.
Thanks for using Fixya.
