My camera was purchased new in 2004 & has never had a problem. Suddenly it won't turn on. No power. Completely dead. Have tried changing batteries & making sure they are completely charged with no result. I like this camera & am used to it, and I spent about $800 so was hoping to get more than 4 years use out of it. 2 questions I guess: Do you think it's repairable & is it worth it even to try? That is definately a large investment, and my suggestion would be to take it into a repair shop and get an estimate on repair. Once you have that information, you can make a more informed decision.
I know that at the Best Buy™ stores, you can get an estimate from the Geek Squad® department, however if you decline having the unit fixed, you will incur a 34.99 handling fee. I want to be up front about this.
You may find it is cheaper to fix the unit than replace, or you could find out if is more cost effective to make a new investment.

Nikon hasn't manufactured the N65 is several years now, so if you bought it it was either misrepresented as new, or possible new-old-stock (a never sold/used item, that's been sitting on the shelf for a number of years). I'd be willing to venture you probably ran into a disreputable seller.
Either way, open the battery compartment and look for corrosion in the compartment. If that's present clean it off with the eraser of a pencil and try again. If that doesn't work, contact Nikon service with the warranty information in your package. If it's a new item, it'll still be warrantied since the warranty won't begin until it's sold to a consumer.
If, however you find that the camera was sold 10 years ago and no longer under warranty, you'll probably want to either find a local reputable shop, buy another camera if yours turns out to be too expensive to repair (impossible to tell until someone looks at it to determine the issue), or if you don't have a local shop I'd recommend KEH Camera in Atlanta, GA for mail-order/internet dealers. They've been in business many years and are very reputable.
Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.
It almost sounds like the battery won't hold a charge anymore which means you need a new battery. Since the camera isn't quite a year old yet I'd suggest contacting Nikon and seeing if they'll do anything for you before you buy a new battery.
That sounds like your battery could be dead/not hold a charge. If you've charged your battery already and your camera still won't stay off and turns off right away, it's time to purchase a new battery for your Samsung TL105.
Batteries can and do fail suddenly, and totally dead electrical devices are impossible to diagnose faults on without specialist tools and knowledge.
You only have two choices:-
1. Replace the battery with a known good, fully charged one to see whether it resolves the fault. If you have to buy a battery for this test then you may end up buying a battery unnecessarily if it proves that the fault is not with the battery. If you know anyone with another D5000, D40 or D60 then you may wish to test your battery in their camera, but then you risk damaging their camera if your battery is faulty (unlikely with most faults, but definitely possible). You can also ensure that your charger is not faulty by charging your battery on a borrowed charger (same warnings apply though).
2. Skip the battery test and return the camera to an authorised Nikon Service Centre. Your camera is less than two years old so may still be under the manufacturer's warranty, but you'll need proof of purchase and the original warranty card to benefit from a warranty repair and the exact terms vary worldwide. If you're in the UK you need to have purchased from a source supplied by Nikon UK and republic of Ireland and to have registered the warranty within 30 days of purchase. In the UK you'll additionally have statutory Sale of Goods Act protection for up to 6 years (5 in Scotland), but the claim is against the retailer and not the manufacturer.

The most common cause of no electrical function is some sort of corrosion on the battery terminal connectors.
Assuming the battery is the correct type (6V DL223A, CR-P2) and holding a good charge, it could be that one or both of the prongs at the bottom of the battery compartment has something on it. The F601 (or the N6006 version, which I have) is 16-17 years old now, and has likely picked up some battery corrosion over its lifetime.
Try rubbing the top of the terminals with a rough pencil eraser (being careful not to bend the prongs over).
You might also check to see whether the battery is latching under the tiny tabs inside the edge of the battery compartment when it is inserted. It should be- this holds the battery down tight against the terminal prongs.
If the battery is good, inserted correctly (open terminal end in first), and the F601 still doesn't power up, then...ummm...
