Question about Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT Top Load Washer
I am having the exact same problem. I think one of the springs it hangs from is either disconnected or some how out of place. Hopefully I will be taking mine apart this Sunday. If I figure it out I will share.

Perhaps the washer isn't sitting level? Use a carpenter's level on the top surface and make sure the machine is sitting level. Next screw down the feet as necessary to maintain a level washer. In some cases, the "solenoid" is out which is servicable by a repairman. Not an expensive fix by the way, but not easy for the uninitiated among us.
