All you have to do is take the keyboard off and then pull the winmodem. the ram goes under the modem. not hard after i figured it out. no problem. its easy just like i said.

The entire bottom has got to be unscrewed then you must carefully lift up keyboard. It is a major pain in the ****

Flip the laptop over so that the bottom side is face up... you will need a Small Phillips head screwdriver ... Unscrew the cap to the RAM .. (it is the one that is generally the same size as the stick of ram going in it...).. slide it into the slot at an angle... about a 45 degree angle. then push the end downward towards the board until the latches lock it in place...rescrew the cap on the case ...

It is OK to mix chip (SODIMM) capacities in the 2 slots in your notebook.
The best system performance will be when you have 2 x 512MB but for now if you install 1 x 512MB, you could even leave the old chip in the other slot, it'll be fine.
