I have a 2250xcds/cdt and there is no small area to unscrew, it looks like the whole bottom has to come off. Can this old laptop be upgraded? It has always worked until recently, an erorr message pops up in a dialog box stating that there's not enough virtual memory. Isn't that a RAM problem?

All you have to do is take the keyboard off and then pull the winmodem. the ram goes under the modem. not hard after i figured it out. no problem. its easy just like i said.

Flip the laptop over so that the bottom side is face up... you will need a Small Phillips head screwdriver ... Unscrew the cap to the RAM .. (it is the one that is generally the same size as the stick of ram going in it...).. slide it into the slot at an angle... about a 45 degree angle. then push the end downward towards the board until the latches lock it in place...rescrew the cap on the case ...

RAM chip sets

It is OK to mix chip (SODIMM) capacities in the 2 slots in your notebook.

The best system performance will be when you have 2 x 512MB but for now if you install 1 x 512MB, you could even leave the old chip in the other slot, it'll be fine.

I have an Acer TravelMate 514T PC Notebook running with only 64MB RAM, and I want to put in a 256 MB RAM. How do I make the notebook recognize the 256 MB RAM card?

Mostly what I came across this models they only can detect until 128 mb and they do run a little faster than having 64 mb.And see if the card is pc100. and it is also dependent on what is your operating system is.If your notebook memory slot is two get two 128mb and you'll have 256mb.

Memory Upgrade for Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 800 Laptop, the Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 800 Laptop takes the PC100 SDRAM SODIMMs. 256MB module must be 1" in height or less Memory Type, and comes installed with 128 MB (removable) of Memory. You can upgrade your Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 800 Laptop to up to a maximum of 512 MB Memory, the system has 2 sockets to install Memory, already with 128 MB (removable) standard Memory installed. Does Toshiba Portege 3490CT ram can be bigger than 128. If so adv availability & selling outlet please.

Hello,

The motherboard has 128 MB memory (soldered on board). However there is still empty slot for further upgrade. You can install another 128 MB PC100 SDRAM memory to get maximum of 256 MB.

I would like to nwom how much of memory this laptop support

The Thinkpad is installed with 128 MB SDRAM is standard, and is expandable to 512 MB
There are two memory slots, to expand it to 512 Mb you need two 256 Mb RAM modules and throw away the 128 Mb RAM module, but if you don't throw away this module and you insert a 256 Mb RAM module in the 2nd memory slot then your total memory would be 384 Mb.

I want to put ram in my laptop evo 1020v, but he recognize only 512MB how can I do. thanks you

When you say that it only recognizes 512 MB, I am assuming that this is after you installed the RAM?  - How much did you have before you installed it?  And how much did you install?
Sometimes it is as simple as making sure that the RAM chip is pushed in far enough.  Make sure the chip is pushed in securely.  Sometimes you will hear a click when it is in far enough. If it is not, the laptop will not recognize it.
Hope that helps.

Installing ram

Laptop RAM modules are usually in a removable panel on the underneath of the laptop.

Alternatively, it might be under the keyboard, where there might be a couple of screws underneath to remove, then maybe some clips on the keyboard. Sometimes you will need to remove the panel above the keyboard (should pop out of its clips) and there will be screws underneath.

I'm not too familiar with this model, so I couldn't say for sure.
But once you see the ram, its similar to removing desktop ram, just use your thumbs to pry back the tabs holding it in.

How to upgrade a Dell Latitude CPX - Intel P3 500-650 laptop

I have a CPX H500GT. To get it to run XP Pro to run right, max out the ram. And get a larger harddrive. Xp uses a substantial amount of space.
