Hi Good day!! Maybe the HDD that you've been inserted was a cloned HDD, my solution to this was to format the HDD that you've been inserted..

Go to BIOS by pressing the F10 button(may vary product to product).
check the boot option, it might be changed, you need to change it for 160 GB hard disk.

If it does not works, then it might be the failure of harddisk.
Contact you Vender in this case.

make sure ur the file size want to copy into CDs suitable with cds capacity can hold.

. Do not copy more files to the CD than it will hold. Standard CDs hold up to 650 megabytes (MB). High-capacity CDs hold up to 850 MB. .Be sure that you have enough disk space on your hard disk to store the temporary files that are created during the CD writing process. For a standard CD, Windows reserves up to 700 MB of the available free space. For a high-capacity CD, Windows reserves up to 1 gigabyte (GB) of the available

I am usubg 845 gvrs motherboard now I want to installed extra internal harddisk what will be ideal harddisk and size

The size of the hard disk depends upon what type of programs you are running and the amount of data you need to store.
Programs that create large amount of data are audio and video files.
The tpye of hard drive depends on what type of disk controller you have, it could be IDE or SATA disk controller, you need to check your computer's hard disk controller.
The average hard disk capacity is 160 Gb to 180 Gb and goes up to 1 Tb, but the largest capacity drive your cmputer can support will depend upon the BIOS.

Hardrive not showing real capacity

Sounds as if your hard drive is partitioned into 2 or more parts or was not formatted to large disk.

Trying to figure out the size of a hard drive

Hi MacLean, and welcome to FixYa,

There is the BIOS way and there is the Windows way:

The BIOS way:
When your computer is booting up, you can interrupt the startup by pressing either esc., F1, Del., F10, or maybe some other key, depending on your pc.
In the setup, you’ll se the disks on your computer, and the size, this size is the factory size, - Bill Gates take a bite and throw it away :-)

The Windows Way:
Rightc click "this computer" choose administer, choose disk handling, here you see the same disks, but now a bit smaller.
This size is you actual space.

Total size is not 80 GB IDE Hard Drive

Hi,

Two possible solutions but both calls for another software/utility.
1. Use FDISK but you should be booting and running in DOS mode;
2. the other is Partition Magic which runs under Windows environment.

The idea is to delete the existing partition (that shows only 31.50Gb) and thereafter re-partition to the full capacity of the drive. of course doing so would erase the contents. Further, a format after the re-partition is required.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
