Casio te8500, how to show total on pop-up display?

    Hi, tim
    thanks for your reply.

in my city, the receipt should be shown like the following:
    coke $2
    sandwich $ 1
    subtotal $3
    tps: $0.3
    tvq: $0.4
    Total: $3.7
Tps and tvq is the tax.

when client pays, the operator enter the items which client order,
    1. when the waitor depress "subtotal" key, the client will see the sutotal not included tax in the pop-up display $3.
    2. after the waitor depress "cash" key, or "credit"key, the client will see the total amount $3.7, and also at the same time, the receipt will come out.

but actually, the waiter should depress "cash" key (or the cash amount the client pays) or "credit" key after the client pays. but the client would prefer to see the total not only the subtotal before they pay. so there is a conflict.

My question is, how to set the machine, so the client can see the total amount (not the subtotal) before he pays?

    hi, Tim,
    no more reply?

  • computerccc Oct 08, 2010

Just see your reply in my morning time. yes, in the register, there is not a total key. It's very funny.
there are two keys, " ca/AMT TEND" "CR", if i depress one of the two keys, i will get the total amount. but i should only depress it after the client pay. However, the client should see the total amount not only the subtotal before he pays.
    this is the conflict.
I'm online now. I will check your reply on time.
thanks a lot. have a good day.

got it from a dealer, he doesn't know either. i guess i know more than him. trying.

  • computerccc Oct 08, 2010

if i hit subtotal twice, i will get two subtotal, but the total is correct.
I guess there must be a way to solve this problem.

  • computerccc Oct 08, 2010

i think it should be similar like other cash register. i have never use cash register before.

  • computerccc Oct 08, 2010

do you think we can do some programming? like for the first hit of subtotal, it's the real subtotal, for the second hit of subtotal, we will get a total (subtotal plus tax).

  • computerccc Oct 08, 2010

yes, i'm in canada. i have their phone. forget that. just see whether you can help me. like other cash register.

  • computerccc Oct 08, 2010

To my knowledge it should do that by default. What is it currently showing on that pop up display?

Thanks
Tim

I would think so as well, you may need to go to Casio directly on this one to figure this out. What country are you in? Canada? Let me know and I will let you know what to do here...

On my Casio tk-t200 when I take the Z reading at teh end of the shift the total is cumulative and not for teh shift

It sounds like someone has taken an X report instead of Z. X will read but not reset. It will normally be the report BEFORE the one you just did. Check the top of the reports and they should show a Z at the top. If one shows an X, the next one will be two shifts of data. Make sure the key is in Z mode for re-zeroing.

Unfortunately, the ports can be configured for any of the supported devices so there are many settings that have to be matched. You also need to have a cable wired to casio specs. Any old cable will not do. Then you configure printer routing settings and PLU settings. It is best to get a dealer to configure everything for you in this case. If you are keen to try yourself, you will need the dealer manual for the setting tables. There is one here:
