The R at the top of screen reminds you that angle unit is in Radians. The MATH says that the Input/Output mode is MathIO. In this IO mode, fractions are stacked (2levels) as in textbooks.. The R setting should not bother you unless you are doing trigonometry problems (in which case set the appropriate angle unit). The MathIO allows you to do exact calculations with fractions and radicals. Beside you can always convert fractions ad radicals to decimals.
As to the f(x)=, I believe you have changed the computational setting from COMP (usual) to TABLE. In table mode you supply a function and the calculator generates a table of values.
To recover the normal mode COMP, press MODE and select COMP (should be the choice 0:COMP).

Orion toilet, the tank to bowl gasket leaks

turn off the water,, flush the toilet ,, using a rag or paper towels sop up the remaining water in the tank, ( if you hold the flush valve down more will exit the tank) remove the water inlet tube, remove the 2 or 3 hold down bolts that have a slotted screw head inside the tank, and a nut on the underside of the bowl, use care in lifting the tank off the bowl section, as they are normally a matched pair and most aren't interchangeable, on the underside of the tank you will see the bottom of where the flapper attaches,, at that point will be the gasket that needs replacing, remove it, and install the new one, reverse this order to re assemble,, NOTE, you don't have to tighten the tank bolt very much,, snug is better than over tightening, the tank will crack if you over tighten the tank back on the bowl, so use care in this step, I always replace the tank bolts at the same time,

How do I turn on the flash? I tried to buy a really simple camera and there's just too much 'stuff' on it. everything seems to be ok, just can't figure out how to make the flash work. ...

Easy. When the camera is in normal shooting mode, press the up button (marked with the symbol of a lightning bolt) until the symbol of a crossed out lightning bolt near the top left of the screen turns to an uncrossed lightning bolt symbol. that's it.
extra tips-
  • if you keep pressing the up button until the lightning bolt symbol has a letter A next to it, the camera will fire the flash only when it thinks it is necessary. this will keep your flash from firing in bright light and therefore save battery charge.
  • remember when you flipped through your math textbook in the first grade and it had "too much stuff on it"? you think its too much because you aren't used to it. don't be afraid to mess with the settings in order to learn how to use your camera best; you can never permanently damage a camera in changing its settings. the worst that could ever happen is losing all the photos in memory. if anything else goes wrong, you can always return the settings to what they were when you bought the cam in a few button presses (refer to the manual).
good luck and happy shooting!

I am a sophomore in college and i am taking math for elementary teachers. Currently, we are applying "guess and test" method and I find myself struggling with, in particularly cryptorithms for example, ...

there is no easy's just a matter of trail and error and logic.....not helped by there sometimes being more than one answer.

Would always suggest starting on the left as this, as a number, cannot exceed those below it. Then next to try and identify the most reoccuring letter.

the use of multiple sketched grids also helps

After a wash cycle, the letters UE appeared in the timer window..

UE = Unbalance error.
try to use a low spin speed with loads like rugs, and try to get as even a load as possible. (ie: not just one rug) Don't wash rubber backed rugs, as the backing can break up and clog your machine.

Now, if you are successful washing with the lowest spin speed, you can hold the " Spin Speed " button in while pressing on the power button. Release power button. Now release the spin speed button. Now, press the spin speed button until the next higher spin speed from your last successful spin. Press start. Your washer should now pump out and attempt to reach the new spin speed, without adding any water. (usually about a 14 minute pump and spin cycle) Don't expect to be able to spin out rugs at a high spin speed.

There is no such button, but there is a command accsssible as follows
[MATH] right arrow to highlight [NUM] and 5:int( [ENTER] In short
The command appears on home screen, where you give it the decimal number whose inter part you want.
Ex; int(15.87) gives 15

You shoul explore the catalog of all commands avaible on your calculator. You press [2nd][CATALOG] (under the digit 0) and scroll down or up. If you know the command, while in [catalog] press [ALPHA] and enter the first letter of the command. The cursor moves to the first occurrence of the letter and you can then scroll more to reach the command.

Hope it helps
