Arcade (white) version of xbox keeps overheating

Get a can of compressed air or use an air compressor and clean out all the vents and fans. You can also use a vacuum with a hose attachment to clean it.

Overheating issues

Blow out the Xbox 360 with compressed air, buy external fans, but don't buy the "Nyko intercooler" as they have been rumored to have cause problems to the Xbox 360 and void warranty. Your best bet is to buy a cheap office fan and point it at the Xbox to cheap the air flowing. Also if possible, move the Xbox 360 into a open space where it has at least 5 inches of space behind it, and at least 2 or 3 inches of space on either side to keep a nice airflow. Best of luck!

My xbox will not read a disc it keeps saying play dvd

If you Xbox 360 is not reading discs this is because the receptors on the back of the DVD drive have overheated and you need to stop the heat.

You can fix it yourself using a good Xbox 360 Repair guide or you can send it in to get it fixed

Xbox 360 overheating fan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj2A7mGGjuY

That is a video that shows you how to open your xbox 360. It will void your warranty but I'm assuming its already void since you didn't send it in. If the fans running you should feel hot air coming out of the back of the xbox when its on.

Xbox 360 power off

Check the power brick. When the 360 is on, the light should be green, otherwise it is broken.
