Well I recommend you to contact HP first they have the part numbers and stuff and they can help for quiet a low fee per service, because if you go over a computer store they probably will sell you a generic one and probably it will not fit.

Shut down the computer.
Turn on the computer tapping F10 key on your keyboard.
You will see BIOS comming up.
Go to the option SMART and Run HDD Self Test.
If it passes then get another set of recovery disk for HP Pavilion.
If test fails, replace hard drive.

usually the power supply is bad if no lights com on...

problem with your ccfl lamps or inverter, consult your nearest LCD repair center..

Please run system restore to an earlier date.

Start system holding down f11 key till you hear a beep then follow the screen instructions.

This is how to turn on webcam for your HP pavilion

Step 1: Go to my computer

Step 2: On the My computers window you should see Camera or Media devices, double click on it to open your Webcam.

Your power supply is bad--you will need to replace. I suggest looking at tigerdiect for a replacement.

Did you buy the computer new? It should have come with recovery disks, also called operations disks. I have had to do this with my hp pavilion lap top a few time over the past few years so that it would run faster. If the recovery disks aren't in there, call the company. They are always supposed to be included. I've always had good luck with hp, you might even go to hp's website. It's really good as well.
