Try saving your computer files in a separate hard disc then reformat your pc. After reformating your pc intall an updated antivirus program, transfer your files from the separate hard disc into your pc then clean your system.
Thanks! i hope i've been a help to your problem.

Looks like you did as much as you could. Only thing left would be to do a fresh install. Let me know how you make out.

Blue screen

Which operating system you are using??

You can follow the given steps to avoid blue screen error..
Start Windows in Safe Mode:

Step1: Turn on your computer and press the F8 key repeatedly from your keyboard. You must press F8 before the Windows logo appears. It will display the Advanced Boot Options screen.

Step2: From Advanced Boot Options screen, choose Safe Mode option then press Enter.

Step3: If Windows loads and works fine in Safe Mode, a bad driver is probably causing the error. Uninstall device drivers and reinstall them. If Windows experiences issues in Safe Mode also, repair your hardware.

Startup repair:

Step1: Shut down your computer and then restart it in Safe Mode (see step1).

Step2: From Advanced Boot Options screen, select "Repair Your Computer" and hit Enter. Choose your preferred keyboard layout and then click "Next."

Step1: Click "Startup Repair", and follow the on-screen instruction .Startup repair can solve this problem.

System Repair:

CPU fell on floor now windows won't load. How can I tell if he'd is hosed or can be fixed?

to boot a cd then you must have the bios set to allow it, or tap f12 immediately to intercept boot menu and choose cd. sounds like your drive has a few bad disk sectors.

PowerSuite Golden is the right software you need in your case, it is an awesome toolkit that includes a boot CD and several other data rescue tools that help get your PC going even if Windows won't start or computer won't boot up at all. Download the ISO file----> Burn it to CD----> Boot your PC from the CD by setting the CD drive as the first boot device in the boot sequence.

You are probably heading for a reinstall of the os (or restore). You can try booting in safe mode (f8 after acer logo goes away, then arrow up on keyboard to safe mode (mouse wont work in this mode), then hit enter.
If this still doesnt work, check your manual on restoring your system.

PC BOOTS HALF WAY

Try booting into safe mode. If it's a driver problem, safe mode will allow you to start Windows with only the bare minimum of hardware and drivers being engaged. To get to safe mode, press the F8 button on your keyboard during the Windows boot process until it takes you to a screen to let you select Normal, Safe Mode, Safe Mode with networking, etc. I would suggest not using anything other than just Safe Mode. From there, uninstall any software or new drivers that you recently installed. Alternatively, you can use the System Restore feature to rollback to a previous restore point.

Gateway desktop xp starts then flashes blue screen for split seco

Sometimes they make the recovery disk with windows on it, but not the programs that start windows during the boot up phase. One of the three main files that boots into windows is corrputed or your Master Boot Record is missing. There are two options you can try without the OS disc so lets see if one of those will work: 1) boot up and press F8 to enter safe mode. Once in safe mode sometimes you can also get into window because just the minimum of the program is loaded. F8 Safe Mode>in windows>click start>accesories>system tools>system restore. It will allow you to restore your computer to a prior date before you have problems. 2)if that don;'t work then F8 safe mode and while in safe mode choose Last Known Configuration. Kinda works the same way as restoe but you don't have to be in windows to do it. If those don't work then get your hands on a windows xp disc, anyone's will do, don't have to be yours. Let me know how it goes.
Rate this solution. You can also find out about this at support.microsoft.com>help and support>type in Windows XP boot disk in the search engine. If those don't work let me know and we'll move on to phase II.

Booting problem

Try putting the computer into safe mode by holding down on the F8 button and selecting safe mode during the boot process. Once you get to the safe mode screen and windows appears, restart the computer.

If that doesn't fix the problem you will have to restore Windows.

Can' start window normally

What I recommend is to boot in safe mode. The step for booting in safe mode is when the logo pop-up press F8 key, then you should have a menu to select, pick the first..."boot in safe mode"
When you're in safe-mode windows will ask you to restore back
your system, please select yes to do.You'll be able to select the
date that windows backup the system for you,try as many until the one that work for you.
Best of luck,takecare.
