You would need a new battery. Or charge the battery to fullest, then discharge all the way and do that a few times. That might put some life back into it. Laptop batteries tend to looes its charge no matter how much you take good care of it. 10 -20 percent a year. Thats how much they loose their charge by.

Mac model A1181. battery is not charging

When you plug the charger in does the charging light light up? Is is amber or green? If the light doesn't light up you may want to look at the charging unit itself as the culprit and get it replaced. If it does, then the problem could be either with the power management unit or with the battery itself. You can reset the power management system pretty easily to see if it resolves your issue. You can do this by powering down your laptop, removing the battery and then holding the power button down for 5 seconds. Replace the battery and power your laptop back on and take a look to see if the battery starts charging again. If the battery still doesn't charge you can easily check the battery. Download the app "Coconut Battery" from this website:
http://www.coconut-flavour.com/coconutbattery/ and run it. This will tell you what the current and max capacities are of your battery in mAh (milliamp hours). It will ALSO tell you what the designed capacity was of your battery. If your current capacity is significantly lower than the design capacity then you will need a new battery. You can buy these straight from Apple. If your battery reads as good you may have an issue between the charger and your battery...and now you're talking logic board issues and you would need to get it repaired by an Apple technician.

I hope that helps!

My computer has stopped charging and only has 1% battery but never runs out unless I unplug it.

Sounds like you need a new battery. When you have it plugged in it bypasses the battery so just providing constant power to the laptop but obviosuly when unplugged it's solely dependent on the battery and if this ist working and ant hold a charge it will just run out. I'm afraid you will have to buy a new battery by searching the web with your model number. Sorry to be the barer of bad news!

Dell Inspiron 6000 won't charge. Battery is brand new. Have plugged and unplugged charger in and out of port so many times until it has to be in EXACT position and "hold mouth just right" for it to even...

via usb is not possible to charge it because the usb voltage is 5 volts and the laptop input charger at the connector is 18 volts. so no, but there is a way to charge the battery externally.
here is the exact link for dell laptops:

After charging d battery when we remove cabele

the battery sounds like it has bad battery memory and needs to be replaced. Before you replace it look for software to give you the battery's status (how much charge it holds out of how much it should hold by design. for exaple i am using ubuntu linux and my battery reads

Capacity: 29% (Poor)
Current charge: 14.3 Wh
Last full charge: 14.3 Wh
Design charge: 48.8 Wh
Charge rate: 10.0 W

now that is my bad battery for staying at home and leaving it plugged in all the time (that kills the battery) i have another battery that reads

Capacity: 97% (Good)
Current charge: 38.8 Wh
Last full charge: 47.5 Wh
Design charge: 48.8 Wh
Charge rate: 5.5 W

it is my battery for travel. the difference between the two is that the battery that reads Capacity: 29% (Poor) only lasts about 40 minutes but the battery that reads Capacity: 97% (Good) lasts 3 hours. you probably have a low Capacity.

Acer laptop won't charge.

When you finally get the charge light to come on, does the battery get fully charged? How long can it run while not plugged in?
A junker will not charge properly, or hold a charge for a short period of time. If this is the case, time to get a new battery.
If the battery seems to charge fine and the uptime is acceptable take a look at the charger and connectors, make sure their clean and free of debris. Maybe try to locate someone with the same charger and see if the problem continues (Some computer shops may have your charger)

Acer wont keep charge but works when pluged in

if you have a ni-mh battery pack, some people report success by identifying positive and negative leads and tapping with 50v welding current + to + , - to - for a second or two to shock the nickel crystals out from the cell inside...

you can also rebuild your battery pack by replacing the cells (they look like c cell batteries)....

but if you have lithium cells DO NOT shock them as they'll blow up in your face and maybe kill ya...
ni-mh could too... (but not nearly as likely)

basically your battery is dead, and you need a new battery.

Charging Problems with FUJITSU SIEMENS AMILO PRO V2055

SOunds to me like the charge board inside the laptop has gone bad. If it will not run off of the mains supply without the battery and will not charge the battery, this is your problem. AS far as where you can get the parts or have it repaired. I am unsure of because I would need the full model and make of the laptop which didn't fit in the listing title bar above If you could send me more info, I would be glad to try to help.

Not charging

I found out how to solve this problem...first power down your computer. Then take out the battery, remove the power supply, and then hold down the power button for 30 secs. Put the power supply in only (not the battery). Start your computer after everything is done loading up put the battery back in. Give it a min. and then you should be able to roll your cursor over the battery life indicator in the lower right corner of you computer and is should say charging. I have found that other people have had this problem and it has worked for myself and for them.

Regarding battery problem/battery not charging

Hi Jasbir, Laptop batteries only have a set life span and if your battery does not hold charge the only solution is topurchase another battery. You will find the cheapest way to do this is to search the computer section of ebay [laptop assessories ]
and find the battery for your laptop model.
