I own 2 of these heaters and on both at the plug-in they have melted where they get so hot. Is there a re-call on this product or are they being repaired?

Measure your supply voltage to ensure you are getting the required voltage to this device. Extension cords and lose wires in the wall plug outlets can be your culprit! Low voltage increases amperes draw and vice versa. Low ampers will increase voltage draw. Goodluck!

The heater I had melted unto a ultility extention cord and was smoldering. It could have cause serious injury or damages to me and my family.

I have a Dimplex CS1205. Plug hot and melted outlet cover.

Many people think melting plugs and outlets are caused by the appliance that is plugged into them. It is very likly that the outlet is worn or loose or wiring connections are loose or the receptical is faulty. Arcing is a major cause for this condition and all of the above issues can cause arcing. This condition usually only happens when high draw appliances are plugged into the outlet. So a lamp could work fine in the outlet for 10 years then a toaster or heater is plugged in and a loose connection causes current to jump from the receptical to the plug prong which inturn causes tremendous heat.

My Heater Blower motor stopped working on my 2007 Chevy Suburban

you will need to check 3 places for this. 1 check the plug going to the blower motor for being hot and melting.2 check the plug going to the blower motor resistor for being hot and melting. 3 check behind the heater control head itself for being hot or melting.chevrolets are bad about these three places not making good contact and melting the connectors.

My lakewood electric heater plug gets hot and starts melting, I have to use a three prong adapter to plug this in..can u help?

Sounds like heat element is defective drawing too much current. Make sure you are not using an extension cord on this heater, it has to be plugged directly into wall socket. Post model number on here so we know what unit we are dealing with.

I have a 1996 Honda Accord that ran hot, plug wire tips melted

it is really not good to run that hot, metal temper fails...

your description sounds like you will need to replace the wires, do it one at a time and that is the easiest way to not mix anything up..

After you get it going, measure how many quarts of oil you burn in how many miles, you may have killed the engine..

"Screw Stud Melted After Faulty Power Cord Occured".

I am not sure I understand the description of the problem but let me take a shot at helping you. First off, you obviusly had a short of some sort that drew excessive current , causing a fault and ultimately got hot enough while drawing that excess current to melt something.. Here is where I am a bit confused. Power going to the heater elements comes off the thermostat and onto one side of your elements. If that is where the screw melted, can you remove th eoriginal screw and redrill and tap a new hole for a new screw to be used? If there is any question about the integrity of that termination then I wouldn't mess around with it since anything you do wrong , may result in a fire. So whatever you decide, be careful. If you can provide a picture or sketch of what it is that failed, I may be able to assist you further.
Good Luck,
