My broken MFC490 printer has been "swapped" by Brother for a MFC495; however the operating manual and CD-Rom for the 495 was not included. Since the authorized repair center has the 490 printer and the manual and CD-Rom and is supposed to return them to Brother, I need the manual and CD-Rom for the MFC495CW.

Brother has the software and drivers that came on the CD-ROM on their support site: http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public/us/us/en/dlf/download_top.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=mfc465cn_all . Select your OS and the language in the menus. Download the full software from the first link (at least on the Win7 drivers list) to use all of the features of your printer. If you download just the drivers, the buttons on the multi-function printer will not trigger any action by the computer. If you need the manual, the link is: http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public/us/us/en/doc/manual_top.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=mfc465cn_all . Again select your language.

However, any third party software that was on the disc will not be available. (The OEM copy of PaperPort SE with OCR was on the CD for Windows systems.) You'll need the original disc or to replace the software with the full version if you use it. (You would need OmniPage to replace PaperPort SE with OCR. PaperPort and PaperPort Pro do not include OCR capabilities.) There are other programs that do this as well.

Hello i just bought a Brother MFC-495CW printer and for the life of me cannot get wireless to connect even though i have setup everything correctly as far as i know. Any help would be appreciated.

4F is from a defective or shorted printhead, the replacement price is near $100.00 just for the head. I would suggest a new machine with a year warranty, the mfc490 sells for around $120.00 at some places.

Yes it must be a problem with the compaq, BIOS setting, USB failure, or just a broken or bent connector, since the Brother doesn't care which computer you use.

check the Brother websight for update software for a mac. have you tried printing under the epson printer.

The printer drivers found on the lexmark website sometimes include the imaging studio scan software included in it... you may try downloading the complete drivers for your operating system.
