Samsung side by side fridge freezer sr-s2028css. having seeked advice from refridgeration engineer was told compressor was not working, had a new compressor fitted by another engineer but still existing problem remained, that is a clicking sound when compressor trys to start. having called out original engineer diagnosed faulty compressor again. As this seems unlikely to me and engineer that fitted the compressor, i would like a secondary opinion. Many Thanks Barry

Did they change the start relay as well as the compressor? On Samsung refers the start relays do not come with the compressor. If they didn't its possible that the start relay is clicking.

For Samsung Refrigerator SR-L629EV my freezer

If there is no cooling at all on the fridge section but the freezer works then it is confirmed that the compressor and gas pressure is OK. Now shut off the fridge and leave it powered off while you clean and check the evaporator for frost. If frost is seen it is a good indication as the compressor is working with sufficient gas within.
Now after about 6 hours plug in the fridge to start. Observe cooling to happen in about one hour and ice to from under three hours.
Earlier make sure that the thermostat was set to normal mode for freezer and fridge.
However if ice forms in the freezer then observe the fridge for about 24 hours for cooling to continue and the fridge to cut off . If not the auto defrost timer, or the thermostat must be checked. Frost formation without defrosting could block the air flow and so shut the air passage to the fridge. Also the blower fan must work and if this is not working then the fan can be faulty. Also a fault on the control unit is a suspect to non functioning of any one of these components.
If defrost timer works but frost keeps forming check while the compressor shuts if the heaters are working, check continuity of the heaters.
So try this test using a multi-meter on the defrost timer and the thermostat and make your observations so that we come to the solution.

I have a Samsung SR-S2028CSS side by side Fridge Freezer with an icemaker water dispenser. The freezer is run at -23 degrees and the fridge at 2 degrees. Recently the ice, having been made in the icemaker,...

Are you sure about these temps C or F? At 2 deg on either scale, food would freeze! And -23 is unreachable.
Water running down the door sounds like a seal leak, check by putting a dollar bill between the seal and the frame. It should NOT pull out easily. Or there may be an air leak in the ice/water dispenser. Look at these parts closely. Or the "stile heater", a heater in the door frame to prevent condensation, may be broke. This is expensive to fix.

Samsung Fridge Freezer (Freezer on top)Model SR-52NXA wont cool

Depends a bit on whether the compressor really is running, or if it's just humming because it's got power on the run coil, but not on the start coil.

Have a careful listen to the compressor. If it's making the trilling or gurgling sounds that go with a working compressor, then your problem is probably one of lost gas. Fixing this is not a do-it-yourself job.

If the compressor sounds like it's stalled, the problem may lie with the starter. Replacements are usually cheap enough for it to be worth fitting a new one just to see if it works.

I am having problems with my samsung fridge model - SR-S2028CSS

does it freeze at all? you may have a problem with the coolent in the back of the fride which if so (depending on the cost of the fride) may be cheaper to replace, also the dial you use for selecting the freeze level could be faulty
