There is a lot of things that can be wrong with the furnace. If you have access to the furnace that is where you need to start. You need to open the front door of the furnace and look at the control board to check if there is any error codes on the board. If your furnace dose not have a control board you will need a testing tool to check if any of the sensors are bad, and will need to check if the gas valve is still working properly. I need more info to help you more.

Brand New 2 weeks old 4 ton Trane compressor leaks a lot of water onto pad

If the unit is running in cold weather than there is ice building up on the coils located outside. This is normal in that the unit is running in heat pump mode heating inside and cooling outside, After the unit detects the ice build up it briefly reverses the cycle heating the outside coils melting(defrosting) the ice which you observe as water on the pad.

The video gives you an example of the defrost cycle!

My trane XE80 will only blow cold air. The fan

It sounds like the problem is a tripped limit switch. Look in the burner compartment and on the blower assembly for a switch that looks like the one below. It will be about the same size round as a quarter. Press the red button on any of the switches you find, then re-try furnace.

Trane xe 1200, can i use the heat blower with out a working compressor, i need heat not air, thanks

you can switch the thermostat to "emergency heat" which will turn the outdoor section off and the thermostat will control the electric heat elements in the air handler if it has them.

the best thing to do it with airhandler shut down at breaker. 1st soften dirt and crud with 409 or different brand. 2nd take a wire brush and clean in up and down motion following the fins on coil.3rd rinse with spray bottle . this is the best you can do without coil removal.

OK. Here is a Trane Weathertron BAYSTAT240 thermostat wiring picture. This heat pump w/ electric (emergency) heaters is running right now. Notice the G terminal has green wire, the R terminal has red wire, the white wire is jumpered from W to X2, etc. The black wire loop you see in the center hole is unconnected.

This unit is adjusted by leveling the base - loosen the screw to the left of "R" and the one to the right of "F". Twist the base clockwise to RAISE the indicator. This makes the mercury in the switch turn ON at a different temperature. Remember to tighten those 2 screws again.

You will have to experiment several times to make the unit read exactly right. If the tech installed the base exactly level, the unit would read right (it says here).

Home heating system question

Hello meglong what type of trane model is it? In the service package that was offered to you was one removing the exhaust fan for cleaning and a minor tune up every year? Because normaly the exhuast fans can be cleaned just by blowing out the fan with some air or even a vaccum cleaner.
