SOURCE: Maytag Dependable LAT8824AAE. Main tub seal leaks

The part number for the mounting stem and seal kit is 6-2095720 it cost about 85 bucks retail. You will also need to buy a special maytag spanner wrench to remove the inner tub. Its NOT an easy job the inner and outer tubs and hoses all need to be removed. The seal kit comes with no instructions. If you had a service company do the job it would be probably around 250 maybe more. We charge 104.95 labor for the job. Good luck _MJ_

SOURCE: Kenmore Oasis washer--model#11027082604 is leaking

As far as I can remember there is supposed to be a lip seal for this motor. I must apologize because I am not sure this is 100 % correct... but this number 425009P is on one of my old invoices. I am NOT sure that seal is for an Oasis. I am sure it is for a smart drive machine.
I did a net search for that number and it only shows up on the Fisher and Paykel machines that are similar to the Oasis. See for your self and feel free ask / seek another expert.

WTW600sw2 change keeps going into drain pump. Is there a way to adjust the drum seal to prevent this?

There is no adjustment. There may b e coins still stuck in your filter that might make their way to the pump. To clear it out, you have to remove the basket from the tub. The filter will be in the back center of the tub. Remove the 2 screws and clean it out.

I'm trying to find a part for my whirlpool washer mod#wtw6200sw3. It is the outer tub shaft seal. fsp 6545958

Hello Robby, welcome to FixYa.

I'm pretty sure I know what you're referring to and unfortunately it isn't good. Many times this is associated with the basket drive assembly, in fact I don't think you'll find that part as a stand alone component.

Where did you get that number, on the actual part perhaps ? Many times the manufacturer will stamp parts with identification numbers as they are built, but they do not become available for individual part sales, only assembly line.

To obtain that seal will require the purchase of a complete a tub assembly unfortunately...unless you can match the seal specs. to an aftermarket seal manufacturer (though the seal has likely worn for reason's of shaft or bearing wear/failure).

Depending on the age of your washer you should inquire about warranty. (you will likely require a proof of purchase and your owners manual)

**I'd suggest contacting your local Whirlpool service/warranty provider as these have a two - five year (parts only...check your owners manual for confirmation) warranty on the tub and bearing components**

I'll watch for your reply and certainly help you in any manner I can. Thank you for visiting FixYa today and good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Hi, My Frigidaire Clothes Washer, Model FES445RF, which has developed a leak around the shaft seal where it enters the outer tub. Is it possible to repair and can I get to it by removing the outer tub from...

Hi, what you are experiencing is problem with the Main tub seal - The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub. It's the primary water seal in the outer tub for the transmission-shaft entry point. If this seal leaks, you can see the leak by opening up the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent in it. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. This seal is difficult to replace. You probably should call a qualified appliance repair technician.

Its leaking water while the washer is washing

Hi
If your washer leaks every time you run it, then check these:

  • Hot and cold water fill hoses - Check the hot and cold water hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten it or replace it, as appropriate.
  • Main tub seal - The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub.

  • Pump - If the pump leaks, you can probably spot the leak when the tub is full of water. The pump has two or more black rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. If the pump is leaking, you need to replace it.

  • Outer tub - Over time, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make.

Please rate the solution if you find it useful and helpful.

Thanks

Rylee
