I have a craftsman lawn mower item#28885. I have a bagger model #247.240193. the manual is asking me to mount the brackets to the tractor using four self tapping hew screws. I need help in this step...

I don't know what screws you have, but self tapping screws are some what tapered on the end. The taper is to allow the screw to center in the blank hole,( Hole without threads) When you start to tighten the screw it will, cut it's own threads, using a little tapping fluid or WD-40 oil will make it easier to allow the screw to cut better threads and easier to tighten down the screw. Hope this answers your question. Sincerely Brad Locke DTD. 12/04/15

The screws that hold our doorknob don't hold the knob anymore. They have loose threads and the screws are already too short that they don't hold the knob anymore. Everytime we turn the knob and pull it to...

Get a tap and re-tap the threads to the next screw size up. Then get matching setscrews. You could put a bit of Loctite on the new screws to keep them secure. Use a FINE thread tap so you get more threads in the knob.

Another solution is to clean and fill old screw hole with metal filled epoxy. Let is dry and re-drill and re-tap to original thread. Devcon makes a filled epoxy as well as JB Weld.

Shift knob fell off

All depends on the fittment type of the gear knob its self, some are screw on, some are simply push on and lock in place. will be able to find a replacement on ebay possibly...simply screw it on or push it on.

Hoover self propelled U6630900 idler arm lock

Remove the bottom plate (4 screws), remove belts and brush roller. There may be 1 small screw in the center front of the vac under the brush roller. remove this one. If this is a bagless model you will also need to remove all of the back screws (torx) that hold the lower hose on. This needs to be removed to take the hood off. underneath on each side of the power drive assembly you will have 1 screw, remove them. there is a clip on each side that snaps the front on, push them out with a screwdriver. Then the hood is removed.

Most of the small telescopes setting circles really cannot be used to find anything--- just not accurate enough---
