I hav latitude d600 laptop i hav a protected by authentication password to use data in my pls tell me the password.

Jan B,

Dell does not put in passwords on computer. Someone added the password once it was setup. There are programs on the internet that you can download that will help you recover the password. If not, you will need to format and reinstall Windows.

there is a back door on some of there laptops the password woudl be toshiba
if that doesnt work the EASIEST WAY IS TO DOWNLOAD THE BIOS FROM THERE WEBSITE AND FLASH THE BIOS to flash the bios you just download the bios from the website it will come with an installer and you can run it on your thumbdrive toshiba will explain how to flash the bios!

i will include a link to an article to bypass it with a neat trick if you have a parrellel port its towards the bottom of the page you just "short out the pins" and it resets it is the link. worst case comes to worse you will have to open up and remove the cmos
hope this works. leave me some feedback! i took a good time looking for a solution as i thought i had it but i was wrong (tested it on mine after reading this as i have a pro series as well

Hi, the standard reset solution for laptops is to remove AC power and battery then hold down the power button for one minute to clear the memorys. In my experience this only works for a limited number of laptops. The alternative is to open up the laptop and remove the cmos battery overnight which works in most cases. If this is a modern IBM and reading between the lines you are asking this question in order to clear a bios password then neither method is likely to work, worth a try anyways tho.

Hope this helps

I have problem on bios password.i disable the bios password but it asks for the password and when i entered the old one and it doesnt work. acer aspire 4715z

Below is the factory service is free to copy, use and print. You will need adobe acrobat reader or fixit read it now to view this file. The BIOS password reset procedure is on pages 39 and 40 of the manual. It involves "shorting" two contacts on the motherboard while powering up the laptop. Read the procedure carefully and you will be fine. If you find this uncomfortable, a local shop should be able to perform the procedure for you.

Save me

To my own understanding putting password on system is still good for Users signing in but for Bios setup it is some how dangerous but all the same thats why we are here for you as in experts.
Then try reformatting your system and install another Os and lets see if is going to work and if it doesnt then you repost it and we get your question right clear.
But then you we have a formatting disk and put it into the cd drive then it will boot from the cd and not from the hard disk .OK then follow the instruction that will be giving .
That solve your problem.

Cd-dvd rom error code 10. failed to start

I had similar problems with my HP computer and i found either uninstall it through device manager the reinstalling it through new hardware wizaed in control panel. Or if that doesnt work try opening your laptop up and unplugging/removing the drive itself and restarting the laptop then turn it off again and put the drive back in the computer should then register it as a new device and reinstall it. that second option worked for my drive so it should hopefully work for yours

God Bless
