If it came actively powered and permanently connected but you do not want to use the supplied amplifier, then you need to disassemble the subwoofer cabinet and disconnect the amplifier from the driver.

What I think you are describing is that you removed the amplifier, then you are still using the amplifier connection? Or did you simply remove the amplifier but then are still connecting by one of the terminals on the back from another device?

Either way it sounds like your subwoofer no longer has an amplifier. That's why there is no sound.

Sorry I should have been more specific. I have a surround sound amp with connections for the front and rear centres, the front and rear surrounds and the subwoofer. The amp in the subwoofer stopped working and I am trying to see if there is some way to connect my surround sound amp directly to the speaker in the sub woofer. I have taken out the amp in the subwoofer and connected the lead from the surround sound amp directly to the wires from the the subwoofer speaker - but no sound.

The connection often labeled on a receiver or surround sound processor as SUB/LFE out are line-level outputs and provide no amplification.

You need another amplifier for the subwoofer.

How do I bypass the factory monsoon amp on a 2001 chevy camaro?

Every time I've done an install an a Monsoon system, I've run new speaker wires. It's the easiest way to bypass the amp because I don't believe there's anyway to integrate it. You should be able to locate the constant and ignition wires in the factory harness with a multimeter and tap into those.

Hope this helps

did you bypass the amp thats mostly located in the trunk on the right side behind the cover. Either its there or under the rear speaker deck. You have to bypass that amp before the speakers will work and there is a kit for that too.

Have a kenwood kac849 600w amp keep blowing fuse on amp as soon as power is too it power wire got wet and now this can i bypass that fuse some how

It would be very dangerous to bypass a fuse. If it keeps blowing, bypassing the fuse will only create lots of internal damage and maybe a fire as well. The fuse is blowing for a reason, the amplifier is not going to somehow start working because you bypassed the fuse. You also need to stop trying to turn it on, every time it blows the fuse, it keeps stressing the components inside. You have a shorted power supply, probably water damage as well since the power wire got wet.

I repair car amplifiers for a living, and can tell you with all honesty that bypassing the fuse would be a terrible mistake to make, the amplifier would end up being un-fixable with holes burned right into the board.

Please, just take it in for service or get a new amplifier. That is the only sensible thing to do. The amp will not start working bypassing the fuse, it will only start smoking.

What up with my subwoofer?

Sometimes the Bazooka tubes have an internal amp. I am not sure of this model but maybe you can Splice in directly to the Speaker Wire and bypass the AMP in the Tube if it has one
