Albert,

I don't really understand what you have installed.
If Vist is Vista , then you should do it on a PC, not a server.
When we install new servers with many patches , service packs , applications etc., we make ASR after each path , pack , app. This way if anything happens , we just use the ASR to put back to last wotking install. Please try that method .

Good luck ,
David

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Server Randomly Reboots

First, go to Dell's website and update all the firmware and install the latest version of Dell Server Administrator. DSA has logs information not logged by Windows. Next, take it outside and blast the fans with compressed air, make sure all components and cables are properly seated in their slots/sockets, turn it on with the cover off and make sure all the fans are spinning. Many servers will increase the fan speed if they detect the cover is off so this is another possible cause to the problem.
Finally, Dell servers have lifetime support, this number should work: (800) 945-3355
Good luck!
BTW: A temporary workaround might be to use a network controlled outlet that you can remotely turn off and on. Your UPS might be able to turn outlets on and off or you could get a stand alone network controlled outlet. Some can actually ping the device and turn power off and on again if it stops replying to pings. (E.g. IP Power EV-9255 IP http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1470N64280)

"Harddisk not found" error during

If the computer is telling you that the hard disk is not found, then either it is not hooked up correctly, is set to "disabled" in the BIOS setup, or the hard drive is bad.
Check those things in that order.

Problem with the Dell PowerEdge 2650 Server Can't detect Hard drive

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If this does not work then reboot and go to theBIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn'tdetect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to determine if thehard drive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files, this confirms the hard drive is faulty. The hard drive needs to bereplaces in the laptop and Windows installed and the laptop's device driversand your programs etc to get a functioning laptop again.

I install windows 2003 server but req. harddisk drivers

Hello,

You should be ableto get the drivers from Microsoft and from IBM support site. If you are unable to do so from the x3400, you can download the drivers to a usb or cd-rom and install from there.

Good Luck

What hard drives can I use as replacements?

Call Dell with your Service Tag.
Lifetime support is included on all Dell servers.
Last time I called them I dialed (800) 945-3355
They can sell you the hardware you need and guarantee it will work with your server. They might even be able to help explain the process of installing the drives.

I recommend that you use Acronis' Imaging software (www.acronis.com) so that you can make an exact copy of your data and apply it to the replacement volumes. If you are using a RAID1 array make sure the new array is completely built before applying your image. Builds can take a long time. I created a RAID1 array with 2-320GB disks and it took 3.5 hours to build the RAID1 array.

I hope this helps.

Please vote for my solution if it helps.

Error on system start

your system is failing it's Power on Self Test (known as POST) the beeps are a code which tells you where it is failing. unfortunately the codes mean different things for different motherboards, however common faults include Graphics card fault (try reseating) and Memory failure. If you look at the Manaul for the tx300 S2 there is a section on the diagnostic LEDs, I suggest you have a look, as it may help to diagnose your problem (it can identify faulty components) http://manuals.fujitsu-siemens.com/serverbooks/content/manuals/english/thb-d1899-d2099-en.pdf

Problems with booting

for any new hard disk first you have to create a partition table. Usually this is done when installing the OS. eg: for win98 you have to first create the partition in dos, format it, then run win98 setup. Now in WinXP this can be done when installing the OS. Similarly you may have to create the partition before runing UNIX setup. I Dont know the installation for UNIX. Usually the hard disk manufacturer supplies with some utility to do the partition. Like Disk Manager from Seagate.
