Question about Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5000 Laser

1 Answer

Mouse does connect but keyboard does not, vice versa

I have a mouse/keyboard Logitech set, and I have been using them for at about 7 months, today the mouse and keyboard just disconnected, so I tried to get them connected again following the instructions Logitech provides. So I first connect mouse, wait for 20 seconds, mouse works fine, then I connect keyboard, which works fine too, but mouse stops working, if I try to connetc the mouse again, keyboard stops working and so... could you please help me?
Thanks,
Vivian

I tried posting this a moment ago, but then lost my connection when I hit "Get Assistance." So I apologize if you are receiving this twice. I have the EXACT same problem as this person describes. I follow the connection instructions to the letter, but once I connect the keyboard, the mouse is disabled. When I connect the mouse, the keyboard is disabled. I usually repeat this process a half dozen times before it spontaneously starts working. Recently, I had to replace the batteries in my mouse (which I dread due this problem) and it absolutely would not work. I took the wireless keyboard, mouse, and receiver to the computer store, and it connected fine on their computer. But I brought it home and still had the same problem. I called the store and they acted like I must be crazy or half-retarded, because it worked fine for them. If it's a software problem then that makes sense! It's comforting to know I'm not the only person to have this VERY frustrating problem.

Same problem, I have a friend that said he fixed it by doing something with the security and typing in some kind of sequence. Said he looked it up online, but I can't find anything.

There's nothing you can do, aside from putting the computers far away from each other. I'd sell one of the sets and get something else that operates on a different frequency.

There are adapters available on Ebay.com or your local computer store that can convert a USB port to a ps/2 mouse or keyboard plug and vice versa. Make sure your keyboard or mouse support this function, though.

Logitech Mouse Not Working

Normal 0 Are your batteries in the Keyboard and mouse good?

You probably have gotten it working by now but here is a way to get it work if not.

Press the Receiver button a(and the lights will start flashing, then if its the Keyboard that isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect.

If its the MOUSE do the same except push the small RESET?CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect. Then they should work properly. Hope this helps. Bud

Logitech Wireless mouse.

As a rule the mouse is matched to the keyboard and a new mouse probably wouldn't work with the receiver.
Try this:
Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud

WIRELESS\BLUETOOTH Check your battery if it is drained. Try replacing them witha new one or charge them if they are rechargables.
