Question about Sharp Televison & Video
By this description it sounds like you have backlight to the picture which means the power supply in the set is working and the inverter board which powers the screen is working. Your problem may be on the main board if this is the case. I have repaired this set for the same symptom with two different problems. First it could be on the inverter board, and second it could be on the main pcb. Once on this model a piece of metal heatsink slid down due to operating temp. of set and touched bottom of main pcb causing a failure of the sound and picture. Either way, if you have no on-screen-display you will be replacing a circuit board. If you whine loud enough to the mfg. co. they may help you. But good luck.
